Elizabeth Crafts

Hi Everyone

I’ve never really been into stickers, I’ve always been a ‘Stamping Girl’ but I came across Elizabeth Crafts at CHA and was instantly attracted to their new dies and then saw what they were doing with Copics and glitter – I was like a moth to a flame.

In the April Class, one of our projects involves this technique, but I thought I would give everyone a look, one a different card…..here goes.

Matterials needed:
Transparent Double Sided Adhesive
Silk Micro Fine Glitter
Stickers
Copic Markers

Step 1
?
Cut a piece of Double Sided Adhesive to be a little larger than your sticker.  Remove one side of the adhesive and adhere it to a white piece of card.  Hold onto to the release sheet.
Remove the sticker by gently wiggling it off the sticker sheet.  This will prevent it from losing it’s shape and lay it sticky side up on the release sheet.
Now take the double side adhesive piece and lay it on top of the sticker and remove the release sheet.  You now have a very sticky piece of card with the sticker attached to it.

Step 2
Dip the sticky card in Silk Microfine Glitter so that it is fully covered in glitter.  ?

Step 3
Start colouring your image.  In mine, the background is YG11 and the leaves and stem are YG67,  To lighten the colours, use a 0 marker.?

Now colour the flowers, I have used RV69, RV27, YR23 and the 0 marker to lighten the colours.?

Step 4
Cut out the image and prepare your card.  I find it best to dip the image in glitter again, as when you cut out the image, some double sided adhesive might be exposed and feels a little funny.
When finished, you will have this lovely sparkly image.
Happy Stamping

Create Art – Card 3

Hi Everyone

Here’s my last card for today – again using the new Darkroom Door Create Art Collage Stamp – DDCS013.

The card consists of a base of Bazzill Typhoon, Fawn and then Beetle Black.

On a Non-Stick Craft Sheet, I smudged Distress Paints Chipped Sapphire, Vintage Photo and Tarnished Pewter and the misted it with water to get the colours blending.

I then smudged an extra piece of Lily White through the paints and allowed them to dry.

Once dry, I stamped the Create Art stamp using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and added extra colour to the jar, brush ends and paint lids using Distress Markers.

On a piece of Fawn card, stamp the squares
from the Darkroom Door Artist stamp set (DDRS027) and add colour using Distress Markers Faded Jeans and Vintage Photo.

After assembling the card, I added Enamel Accents Black to the words Create Art to really make them stand out.

I hope you like today’s cards, I love this new release, particularly the collage and frame stamps and hope I have given you some ideas for your own play time.

Happy Stamping

Create Art – Card 2

Hi Everyone

Me again!  This morning I posted a card using the new Darkroom Door Create Art Collage Stamp (DDCS013) and here’s my 2nd card.

Starting with a base of Dotted Swiss Surf’s Up and then layered with Lily White and Beetle Black.

On the Non-Stick Craft Sheet, I smudged Distress Paints Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, Mustard Seed and then spritzed water over them to get the colours blending.  I then smudged 2 pieces of Lily White through them and allowed them to dry.

On the main piece of card, I stamped the ‘Create Art’ using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and then added colour to the jar and paint lids using similar coloured Distress Markers.

On the other piece of white card (now coloured with Distress Paint), stamp the splatters and blotches from the Darkroom Door Artist Stamp Set (DDRS027).

Once the card is assembled, I traced over the words ‘Create Art’ using the Enamel Accents – Black and allow to dry.

There’s 1 more card today, so keep watching.

Create Art – Card 1

Hi Everyone

Over the weekend I was playing with the new Darkroom Door Collage Stamp – Create Art DDCS013.

Today I have 3 card ideas using this stamp:

Card 1

The base card is Beetle Black followed by Lily White, Sandbox and then Beetle Black again.  On my Non-Stick Craft Sheet, I smudged Vintage Photo, Wild Honey and Tarnished Brass Distress Paints and misted with water to get them blending.  I smudged some white card through the paint and then set it aside to dry.  I then stamped the ‘Create Art’ stamp using an Archival Jet Black Ink Pad.  I added some colour to the jar that the brushes are sitting in and paint lids with  Distress Markers.

After adhering the layers to the card, I added a Paint Brush from the Darkroom Door Artist stamp set (DDRS027) and covered the letters ‘Create Art’ with Enamel Accents – Black.

Keep watching today for 2 more card ideas.

Bebunny Baby

Hi Everyone

This new set from Crafter’s Companion – Bebunni Baby is so cute.  The sets are fantastic as they are unmounted, pre-cut stamps and includes a main image, words and borders.

Here I have stamped Bebunni using Memento and coloured with Copic Markers E41, E43, R81, R83, RV95, V15, V01, YG11, YG41, Y00 and Y02.

I started with a card base of Dotted Swiss – Sandbox and layered with Bazzill Lily White and scrapbooking papers.  The border and words are from the stamp set.

After cutting out the image, I adhered it to the front of the card and added some Crystal Stickles to accent the letters and other shapes.

Darkroom Door’s latest release is here!!!!!

Hi Everyone

Darkroom Door’s release has just arrived and we are very quickly unpacking it.

This release includes the Essentials 14 release which has 6 new stamp sets (here’s just a couple), the trees are my favourite stamp set but for some reason, the Carved Houses make me smile.

The range also includes a 6 new Collage Stamps and 6 new Frame Stamps?

Lastly there is the new release of Texture Stamps.  To be absolutely honest, I wasn’t too sure about these to start with (sorry Rachel), but they have certainly grown on me.  Perfect for the centre of a card with a lovely quote in the centre or inside one of the Darkroom Door Frame stamps.  These stamps will certainly be making it into my stamping supplies and there are 6 designs to chose from.

All of the stamps are now available on our website and don’t forget, if you would like me to pre-cut your stamps, don’t hesitate to ask.

Happy Stamping

Darkroom Door

Hi Everyone

Darkroom Door’s latest release is due on our doorstep any minute and I thought it was a timely opportunity to tell you about a service that we offer.

Many of our regular class attendees know that I’m more than happy to help them by cutting out their Darkroom Door stamps and at times, have quite a bundle to do.  Some people don’t feel confident doing so or have problems with their hands cutting something so thick.

We are now extending this offer to our online friends and if you place an order with us, you have the opportunity to have them pre-cut also.

All you have to do, is add a comment to the order or send us an email asking us to do it.  The order may be delayed by a day, so we have time to cut them out, but we will get them to you as soon as possible.

Have a wonderful day and happy stamping

Impression Obsession – 1 card – 2 ways

Hi Everyone

I came across this stamp when I was at CHA and couldn’t wait for it to arrive, it’s one of the new releases from Impression Obsession called ‘Lanterns’ and is code L13201.

I decided to make 2 cards with it, showing you 2 different ways of colouring it – so I have a colour version and a black & white version.

I’ll start with the colour version.  The card is Bazzill Java and I have layered with Pomegranate and Aloe Vera.  The background for the lanterns is Watercolour paper which I have blended Distress Ink Pads – Old Paper and Walnut Stain around the edges.

Stamp the Lanterns using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and then colour with Distress Markers Dried Marigold, Festive Berries, Bundled Sage, Gathered Twigs, Pumice Stone and Old Paper.  To blend the colours, blend with the lighter colour or with water from an AquaBrush.

Now for the Black and White Version.  I kept the same base card of Java and layered with Pomegranate card.   I then added a layer of Lily White which I stamped Hero Arts Decorative Bamboo (K4900) using Hero Arts Shadow Ink – Field Greens.

On HP Colour LaserJet paper (200gsm), I stamped the Lanterns using a Memento Tuxedo Jet Black ink pad and blended Distress Ink Pads – Old Paper and Black Soot around the edge.

I coloured the Lanterns with Copic Markers Warms Tones W-0, W-3, W-5 and W-7.  This gave the image a vintage look and allowed me to control the variation of shades.

When adhering the top layer, I tilted it slightly and trimmed off the edges that over-hanged the card.

Happy Stamping

Cupcake BFF’s

Hi Everyone

The latest release of Art Impressions stamps are so much fun and this stamp set took my fancy.

Here I have used Cupcake BFF’s (4409) and I coloured her with Copic Markers – E00, E11, R20, E35, Y21, YR23, R81, R83, R85, BG15, BG34 and BG49.

I layered the card with some Kaisercraft papers and the base card is Lily White with the edges covered in Crystal Stickles.

I used the Diemanics Scallop Die cut from Lily White and covered it with Crystal Stickles and ran it vertically down the card.

The hearts are from Penny Black’s new die set – Heart String (51-022) and I also cut it from Lily White and covered it with Crystal Stickles.

I added a Lily White Scallop die which I blended with Distress Ink Pad Squeezed Lemonade and then added the BFF.

Blueprints v3

Hi Everyone

Here’s my last card using the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous butterflies stamp sets.

Starting with a Bazzill Sweetheart card, I layered with Pinecone and 300gsm Watercolour paper.

On the larger piece of watercolour paper, stamp the smaller butterfly (Mini Blueprints 2 – CMS146) all over using a Archival Jet Black ink pad.  On the larger piece of watercolour paper, stamp the main image (Easter Blueprint – CMS144) using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

Blend around the edges of both cards with a Distress Ink Pad in Walnut Stain.  Colour around the edges of each rectangle with Distress Marker – Scattered Straw and then colour the butterflies with Wild Honey, Walnut Stain and Aged Mahogany and soften this colour with a little water.

Add a second butterfly to the top of the main image and adhere only in the centre.

Adhere the images together and die a little twine around the lower part of the card.  The ‘Happy Birthday’ words are from Stampers Anonymous – Simple Sayings (CMS155).

Down the centre of the main butterfly, apply some Glossy Accents and allow to dry.

Happy Stamping

More Butterflies

Hi Everyone

I wanted to show you a couple of ideas using the Blueprints stamp set, so here’s card number 1.

Starting with Bazzill Typhoon, I then layered with Rope Swing and Parakeet.

On the Parakeet card, I stamped Darkroom Doors Postcards background stamp using an Archival Coffee ink pad.

The smaller butterflies are from Stampers Anonymous Mini Blueprint 2 (CMS146) and was stamped on Watercolour paper with an Archival Jet Black ink pad.  I blended around the edges with Distress Ink Pad – Walnut Stain and the butterflies were coloured in with Distress Markers Mowed Lawn, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Wild Honey.

The larger butterfly is from the Stampers Anonymous Easter Blueprint (CMS144) stamp set and was coloured using the same colours on Watercolour paper.  I added a second butterfly and adhered it in the centre.

In the centre of the butterflies, I applied Viva Décor Pearl Pen – 401 Brown.

Hi Everyone

We’ll it’s set up day in Melbourne so we are limbering up for what we hope to be a record braking set up but I have to be realistic and if we’re done before dusk, I’ll be happy…. given Melbourne has daylight saving, I think we have a good chance.
Here’s a card I made on the weekend using new stamps from Heartfelt Creations Majestic Morning stamp set (HCPC3582).

I stamped the image 3 times and used part of it on top of each other.  The first layer is the Vase which has been coloured with Copic Markers E41, E43, E47 and E49.  The next layer is the leaves which were coloured with Copics YG63 and YG67.
The next layer is the background flowers, coloured with Copic Markers R81, R83, R85 and RV69.  The next image is the main flowers, coloured with the same Copics and then the last layer (yes, another) was the inner part of the flowers, finished with a small dot of Yellow Viva Décor Pearl Pen.

I mounted the image on Bazzill Aloe Vera which I had pre-stamped with Darkroom Door French Script background stamp in Archival Coffee and then Lily White.

I added layers of Pinecone and Fawn, stamped with the French Script and backed with Lily White and lastly the Sweetheart card (also stamped with the French Script) and then onto the A5 Lily White card.

Have a great day and I hope to see you tomorrow at the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo.

You’re So Special

Hi Everyone

Happy Tuesday – it’s 1 more day till we fly out to Melbourne for the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo this weekend.

This card is perfect for ‘girly girly’ regardless of them being little girls or a not so little girl.

These stamps are from Magnolia Rubber Stamps and are Tilda Rose Scent and Tilda’s Dressing Table.

I stamped the images on HP Colour Laser Paper 200gsm (this is my preferred paper for colouring with Copic Markers and is available at Officeworks) using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.

I coloured the images with Copic Markers – E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, R81, R83, R85, RV69, Y21, YR23, C1, C3, C5 and C7.

The card is layered up with Bazzill – Blissful, Pajama, Lily White and Celtic Green.  After adhering the stamped images, I added Glossy Accents to the mirror and perfume bottles.

The words ‘You’re So Special’ are from the Hero Arts set CL380 and have been accented with Kaisercraft Rhinestone Strip in silver.

Have a wonderful day

You Make Me Smile

Hi Everyone

It’s me again.

I’ve been playing again with the Penny Black Dahlia’s stamp set (30-159) and created this card.

Starting with a Bazzill Leapfrog card, I layered with Lily White, Kisses and Sandbox.

On the Kisses card, I stamped the words ‘You make me smile’ from the Hero Arts – Made with Love stamp set (CL491) using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

On some HP Colour LaserJet paper, stamp 3 small Dahlia’s using a Memento ink pad and colour with Copic Markers G21, G24, G28, RV69, R37 and R32.

Using some ribbon, tie a double knot around the base of the flowers and adhere the card as shown.

Friends Always

Hi Everyone

It’s time to dust off some of my favourite Penny Black stamps and give then a new lease on life.

This is Penny Black’s – Butterfly Suite stamp which I stamped on HP Colour LaserJet Paper.  The music in the background has Distress Ink Pads Faded Jeans and Scattered Straw blended over it.  I then stamped it again on the Creampuff card and coloured the leaves and stem with Copic Markers YG63 and YG67.

On another piece of HP Colour LaserJet paper and coloured the butterflies with B32 and V06 on the edge.  I started flicking the B32 from the centre of the butterfly and then V06 from the outer edge.  This will create a new colour in the centre.  I then added some E37 in the centre and after adhering them to the card, applied Glossy Accents to highlight them.

On the last piece of HP Colour LaserJet paper, stamp the Mum’s The Word again and coloured each flower individually.  I started with Copic Marker B32 in the centre and then added some B18 to add depth.  Around the edges of each flower, I coloured V06.  I then mounted this flower and adhered it to the front of the card.

The card is made up of Bazzill Typhoon, Creampuff and Burgundy card.  On the last piece of Creampuff, I blended Distress Ink Pad – Wild Honey and then stamped Darkroom Door’s French Script to add texture.

On the lower left, I added a postmark from Hero Arts – Untitled Postmark (AC001) and coloured it with the same Copic Markers.

Lastly and after the card is fully assembled, apply Glossy Accents to the centre of the butterflies and the centre of the flower on the Untitled Postmark and then using Viva Décor Pearl Pen – Gold, apply little dots to the centres of the flowers.  It looks gorgeous when this has been done.

Have a great day

You Make The World A Better Place

Hi Everyone

Happy Monday, I have been playing with the Penny Black Dahlia’s stamp set (30-159) and can be used as an ‘any occasions’ card.

The card layers are Bazzill LilyWhite, Leapfrog and Sweetheart card.  On the Sweetheart card, I stamped the Hero Arts CG Lattice Background (331065) which I embossed with White embossing powder.  In alternating lines, I coloured in the lattice using a Copic RV34.

On the HP LaserJet paper, I stamped the My Favorite Things – Vertical Greetings words using an Archival Jet Black in pad, followed by the Dahlia flower.

I trimmed the paper to size then used a Crop-A-Dile to round the corners.

I coloured the Dahlia in using Copic Markers RV69, RV34, R83, G24 and G28 and adhered a second one on top to add dimension.

This card makes a great ‘all occasion’ card.

Mum’s The Word

Hi Everyone

Here’s a really easy card design, which can be made for any occasion.  Starting with Bazzill Leapfrog, I then added Creampuff and then Flamingo.

On the Creampuff cards, I stamped Hero Arts Looped Flower (CG504) using Distress Ink Pad – Wild Honey.  After layered with Pinecone, I added the last layers of Creampuff, one with Looped Flower stamped on it and the other with Happy Birthday from Hero Arts – Birthday Sayings (CL340).

On some HP Colour LaserJet paper, I stamped Penny Black ‘Mum’s The Word’ (4234K) using a Memento Ink Pad and coloured with Copic Markers – YG63, YG67, G99, E15, YR23, Y21, R05 and R29.  I cut out the flower and added it to the Creampuff card.

Mini Blueprints

Hi Everyone

Here’s a quick and easy Valentine card, but something that can be tweaked to use any of the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Blueprints stamp sets.

This is the Mini Blueprints 2 stamp set (CMS146) which I stamped on 300gsm Watercolour paper using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and coloured with Distress Markers Aged Mahogany, Festive Berries and Scattered Straw.

The card is a Bazzill Kisses card, layered with Pinecone, Sweetheart and Creampuff flags cut from the Dienamics die.

The words and frame are from the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stamp set ‘Simple Sayings’ (CMS155).

Wishing You A Very Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone

This Raindrops on Roses release from Hearfelt Creations has been one of my favourites.  This card is a really simple, but sometimes simple can be elegant.

Starting with a Bazzill Dotted Swiss Berry card and layered with Dotted Swiss Celtic Green and then HP Colour LaserJet Paper.

Start by stamping the Raindrops on Roses – Birthday background (HCPC3586) and then colour with Copic Markers – YG63 and YG67.  With the roses, I coloured with Copic Markers R85 and R83, but didn’t colour the whole flower, I left the edges white..

On the ‘Happy Birthday’ banner, I flicked the R83 and R81 Copic Markers around the edges, again leaving the centre white.  With the circle, I coloured with Copic R83 and R85.  The edges are RV69.

I edged the 4 corners with May Road white organza ribbon with silver trim and then wrapped another layer around the lower part of the card.

I hope you enjoy this card.

Gift Ensemble

Hi Everyone

Ok, yes I love the Darkroom Door – Bright Blossoms vol 2 stamp set and I’m attending therapy.

In our Christmas classes last year, we created a Christmas gift box using the Heartfelt Creations ‘Gift Ensemble’ die and here is a Valentine’s version.

I have cut the box from 4 pieces of Bazzill Dotted Swiss – Rope Swing card and layered it with Pinecone.

I stamped the Roses on the 300gsm Watercolour paper using Distress Ink Pad – Fired Brick and blended the colour out with a waterbrush.

To make this box, fold back the decorative edges and adhere them together.  While still flat, adhere any decorations and then fold in the bottom and adhere together.  To secure the top, fold one in after the other.

My Wish For You

Hi Everyone

I’ve had heaps of fun playing with the new Heartfelt Creations – Floral Keys & Locket stamp set and the Magnolia Lost & Found stamp set.

Here’s the first of my play cards.  The Floral Keys & Locket stamp set are code HCPC3572 and the Magnolia stamp I have used is – For You Tilda.  The background stamp is True Friends (CG420) from Hero Arts.

Ok, so that’s the stamps, now down to business.  Starting with a Bazzill Lily White card, I layered with Bazzill Pajama and Pinecone.  True Friends was stamped on the Pinecone card with an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

The fence in the background is Magnolia’s Heart Fence Doo-Hickey and then I added For You Tilda.

I coloured Tilda with skin with Copic Markers – E00, E11 and R20.  Her hair is with E40, E43, E47 and E49. Her overalls are coloured with E40, E43 and E47, the heart with R81, R83 and R85 and lastly the roses with R81, R83, R85, YG63, YG67 and YG03.  Super cute.

The ‘My Wish for You was coloured using the same markers but it’s actually 3 layers.  Layer 1 is just ‘My Wish For You’, coloured with E40 and E43, the roses and leaves.  The second layer is the ornament top and bottom (the centre of the oval has been cut out so the words show from the first layer) and then the 3rd layer is the oval on the top, coloured with Copics E40, E43, E47 and E49 and then covered with Glossy Accents.

Have a wonderful Monday

1st February

Hi Everyone

It’s now February and I get to share my February Calendar page.

February being the month of Valentine’s Day, I stuck with the theme colour of red and roses.

Many of you know that I LOVE Darkroom Door’s Bright Blossoms Vol 2 stamp set (DDRS108), particularly the rose image.

Here I stamped it 3 times on 300gsm Watercolour paper using Distress Ink Pad – Fired Brick and gently blended the colour was a waterbrush.

This is a really simple technique but really effective.  It is particularly easy when you do it with Watercolour paper.  The thickness is really important, so look for a 300gsm.

The calendar page has a base of Bazzill Dotted Swiss – Pepper, followed by Pinecone and Creampuff.  On the Creampuff, I stamped the Darkroom Door Postcards background stamp with Versamark and blended Perfect Pearls – Plum over it.  The letters for ‘February’ were cut with my Cricut and the 3 roses adhere the to the top with the middle on mounted up.

Thinking of You

Hi Everyone

I have had some time to play with Penny Black’s Petal Party stamp set (30-113) which I haven’t had a chance to do before.

Here I have used one of the images from the stamp set, but had to give it a little ‘plastic surgery’ first.  I wanted the flower to curve around to the left a little and so I trimmed some for the backing from it so I could make the bend.

The main image is stamped on Watercolour paper with Archival Jet Black and coloured with Distress Markers – Seedless Preserves, Forest Moss, Peeled Paint and Ripe Persimmon and blended with a waterbrush.

To add some shadow, I around the lower part of the image with Old Paper and blended out with a waterbrush.  I then stamped ‘Thinking Of You’ from the Hero Arts – Made with Love stamp set CL491. To finish the image, I stamped the Darkroom Door French Script with a Distress Ink Pad in Old Paper and then blended around the edges.

The card is Bazzill Pansy and then Creampuff.  The green paper is a scrap of Kaisercraft papers and the purple was blended over with Distress Ink Pad – Dusty Concord and then the French Script was stamped over it again.

You’re simply the best!!

Hi Everyone

We’re ready for the start of our 2014 classes and one of our cards includes a number of Penny Black hedgehogs and I just had to play with them a little more.

Here I have used this little cutie from the Penny Black Tiny Wishes stamp set (30-026).  I stamped her with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured her with Copic Markers – E50, E31, E37, E37, E59, YR23, Y21, R05, R17, R46, G24, BG10, BG15 and BG49.

I stamped the image 3 times with the base being the shoes, tummy and backpack.  The second image being the shirt and the last being the arm and head/hat.

The card started with Bazzill Lily White, Pomegranate and Dragonfly card.

The words are from Penny Black’s – Edge to Edge (30-164) and the flags are from My Favorite Things Dienamics.

CHA 2014 Mega Show is over (sniff, sniff)

Hi Everyone

CHA is over for another year and I’m sitting back in our apartment resting my very, very tired feet, drinking Diet Coke and eating a bag of M&M’s.  I’m completely exhausted.

There was sooo much to see, sooooooo many classes to do and we have soooooooo many things to show you when we get home.

If you are interested in seeing some of our photos, jump over to our Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/MichellesCardsAndStamps to catch some our pictures.  We have taken around 500+ photos, so I have only selected a few.

We’re now on holidays for a couple of days and fly back to Australia on Friday night, landing on Sunday morning.  Hope you see you all again soon.

Happy Stamping

Greetings from CHA Mega Show 2014

Greetings from Anaheim!!

Phew, it’s Sunday night and we have just finished day 3 at CHA – OMG!!! So many ideas, so many new products, so many stands,  – and we’re only 1/2 way through the stands.

Tim Holtz and Ranger have a fantastic display.  They are releasing Mini Distress Ink Pads, Mini Ink Blending Tool, longer scissors but my absolute favourite new product is the ‘Distress Marker Spritzer’.

The Distress Marker Spritzer turns your Distress Markers into an Airbrush and has a screw in the top to hold the pen in place.  You just bump the ‘bulb’ to press the air through (think of a doctor taking your blood pressure).  The reason this is also my favourite product is that you can use it with your Copic Markers as well – goodness, it was interesting watching Tim use a Copic Marker whilst on the Ranger stand.

(Vince stop reading now).

We also have orders in with May Arts, Stampendous, Hero Arts, Petaloo, Stampers Anonymous, Sizzix, Heartfelt Creations, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Impression Obsession and Craft Companion and more to come over the next 2 days.

It’s so exciting being here again and I can’t wait to show you what we have found.

Happy Stamping

Enjoy Today

Hi Everyone

This image just looks so relaxing.

Using Kaisercraft’s Paradisco Collection paper P1380 Sunsets, I used this jetty scene to create this lovely card.

I started with Bazzill Lily White and layered with Typhyoon card followed by the jetty scene.

The words ‘enjoy today’ are from Penny Black’s stamp set ‘Sweet Wishes’ (30-104).

The Magnolia girls I used are Bikini Tilda and Hula Hula Tilda which I coloured with Copic Markers – E00, E11, R20, E35, YR23, Y21, G24, G28, R27, R46, E43, E47 and E49.

Have a lovely day and

Happy New Year!!!

Hi Everyone

Welcome to 2014!!  I can’t believe how fast 2013 went and I’m sure 2014 will be just as fast.

My friends Cheryl, Linda, Jennifer and I will be completing our Calendar Project again this year where we each decorate 3 months of a calendar and give each other a copy.  We rotate who does what months, so in 2013, I had October-December so in 2014 I get January-March.

The calendars are 18x18cm and are a lot of fun to work on as a group (and a little easier than having to make 12 pages).

Here’s my January contribution.  I focused on the fact that it’s Summer in Australia and created this little beach scene.

The base card is Bazzill Typhoon followed by Rope Swing and then HP Colour LaserJet Paper where I coloured it with Distress Stains – Tumbled Glass and Scattered Straw.

On the HP Colour LaserJet Paper, I stamped the Magnolia Rubber Stamps ‘Vintage Swedish Coast Cottage’ and coloured with Copic Markers B93, B95, B99, E41, E43, E47, E49, R27, R46, R59.

Now, the little girls – again I have used Magnolia Rubber Stamps and here I have Bikini Tilda and Hula Hula Tilda.  I also coloured these girls with Copic Markers E00, E11, R20, E35, YR23, Y21, G24, G28, R27, R46, B93 and B95.

The letters ‘January’ was cut from my Cricut.

 Hi Everyone

WOW – it’s December and Summer has started.  I can’t believe where the year has gone and it’s only 24 days till Christmas – Woot Woot!!!

Here’s the last month of our Calendar Project – my December page.

As many of you know, I love Penny Black and these lovely cling stamps by Mo Manning are favourites.

Here I have used Little Elf Finn (40-088) and Little Elf Mim (40-089) and have them swinging from some ferns cut from the Magnolia Doo-Hickey dies.

I have coloured my Elves with Copic Markers – E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, R27, R59, G21, G24, G28 and the baubles were coloured with YR23, Y21 and Y000.  After cutting out and adhering the Elves to my page, I added glitter to the baubles and fir trims on Finn and Mim’s clothes.

Have a wonderful day

Magnolia Tilda

Hi Everyone

Here’s another card that I made from the new Little London Collection from Magnolia Rubber Stamps.

This little cutie is ‘Magnolia Tilda’ which I stamped on HP Cour Laser Jet paper and coloured her with Copic Markers E00, E11, R20, E43, E47, E49, R81, R83, R85, G21, G24, Y21 and YR23.

The pot plants are also from the Little London Collection and is called ‘Afternoon Tea Plant’ and was coloured with G21, G24, G28, E31 and E35.

The words across the bottom are from Darkroom Door’s Simple Sayings stamp set (DDRS119).

London Calling

Hi Everyone

Magnolia Rubber Stamps and Darkroom Door stamps don’t normally go together (apart from word stamps) but this was just tooo easy.

Here I have used Darkroom Door’s London Vol 2 (DDRS074) and London Vol 1 (DDRS073) as my background.  I stamped the scene (from Vol 2) and coloured it by blending Distress Ink Pads – Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain.  As I wanted to colour the bus’ red, I coloured them with Distress Marker – Festive Berries.

The word ‘London’ is from the London Vol 1 stamp set and was stamped using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

The ‘Vintage Phone Booth’ and ‘Guard of the Castle’ are from Magnolia’s new Little London Collection 2013 release.  I stamped the images on HP Colour Laser Jet paper (200gsm).

The ‘Vintage Phone Booth’ was coloured with Copic Markers R02, R05, R27, R59, Y21, YR23 and C3.

‘Guard of the Castle’ was coloured with Copic Markers E00, E11, R20, R27, R59, C3, C5, C7, 100 and YR23 and was them adhered to the card with mounting tape.

Calendar Project – November 2013

Hi Everyone

It’s time for me to show you my November calendar.

As November is the month of ‘Remembrance Day’ on the 11th, I took my theme from there and used the Penny Black ‘Field of Poppies’ 4308K and stamped it 3 times.

The images were stamped on Bazzill Creampuff using Memento Tuxedo Black and then coloured with Copic Markers R02, R05, R27, R59, G21, G24, G28, Y21, YR23 and E35.

In the centre of my poppies, I added a badge that I purchased last November but removed the back from it.

I layered the card on Bazzill Leapfrog, Sunbeam and Pomegranate.

Kaisercraft – Scrapping Organiser

Hi Everyone

I love playing with Kaisercraft products and the Scrapping Organiser was just calling me.
I painted all surfaces black and covered the timber and drawer with the Kaisercraft 75 Cents Collection papers.
I have some paper kits available at the Brisbane Craft Show using these papers and others, if you would like one, stop by and grab one.  I’ll have some more kits available on the website next week.

Bright Blossoms Cards

Hi Everyone

My ‘Spring Theme’ is continuing with Darkroom Door’s beautiful Bright Blossoms Photochips (I love these images).

I’ll start with the Yellow card.  I cut the Bazzill Lily White card to 8cm wide with the fold at the top.  I layered them with Bazzill Beetle Black and Sunshine.  On the Sunshine Card, I stamped the French Script background stamp using Wild Honey and stamped the String Sentiment stamp ‘Thinking of You’ down the left side.

I layered the flower on Lily White and Beetle Black and them glued it so that the card was it’s normal 10.5cm wide.

I added some Swirl White ribbon and adhered all of the layers together.

My next card starts with a base of Bazzill Palm card, layered with Pomegranate and then some Kissing Booth paper.

On the background of the Palm card, I stamped the French Script Background stamp with Distress Ink Pad – Forest Moss and the words ‘Warmest Wishes’ are from the Bright Blossom Vol 1 stamp set.

My last card starts with a base of Bazzill Lily White followed by Pansy and Wisteria.  The paper is from Kaisercraft and I stamped ‘Thank You’ from the String Sentiments stamp set across the middle.

Have a lovely day, today we are setting up at the Brisbane Craft Show which opens tomorrow.  Web orders will be accepted this week, but we won’t be able to post them until next Monday.

That’s not a tulip, THIS is a tulip

Hi Everyone

Seeing we are currently in Spring (although, living in Brisbane, it feels a lot like Summer), it’s perfect to show off a little fun with Tilda and her Tulip pot plant.

Here I have used Magnolia’s Tilda with Big Tulip Pot and coloured her with Copic Markers E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, R81, R83, R85, G21,G24 and G28.  I cut her out using the Nestabilities Labels 4.

I layered the card on Bazzill Sweeheart, Lily White and Aloe Vera and layered with some Kaisercraft striped papers.

The words are from Hero Arts stamp set Find Joy CL497.

Have a wonderful Sunday and hope to see you on Wednesday at the Brisbane Craft Show.

2013 Calendar Project – October

Hi Everyone

Happy October and Summer has certainly hit Brisbane.

Here is my first calendar page for this year.  I started with a Bazzill Creampuff background, layered with Beetle Black and then lastly a layer of HP Colour LaserJet paper.

On the HP Colour LaserJet paper, I blended Peeled Paint and Faded Jeans Distress Ink pads.  I then stamped the Hero Arts Lotus Background with Versamark and then dusted with Perfect Pearls – Pewter.

I cut the letters for OCTOBER and covered with Distress Stain – Pewter.

The butterflies are from Darkroom Door Butterflies stamp set with Archival Jet Black and coloured with Distress Markers – Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey.  After I adhered them to the page, I applied some Chocolate Pearl Pen down the centre of the body.

Kaisercraft Butterfly Tower

Hi Everyone

I’ve continued to play with some of the new Kaisercraft range and here’s my Tower Storage unit.

The unit, of course, is called Tower Storage and is code SB2174.  The papers are from the Enchanted Garden range.

I covered the unit and trays with Black Kaisercraft paint.

On the sides, using the Charm paper (P1219), I created a top and bottom section 7cm deep and then edged it with a thin strip of Bazzill Beetle Black.  I then adhered the sheet of the Glitter Specialty Paper – Fly PS292 (glitter butterfly paper) and sanded the edges back to the timber.

On the top, I used the Charm paper again and sanded back.

On the drawers, before assembling them, I adhered a piece of the ‘Fly’ paper and cut around the half circle.  I then assembled the boxes by gluing up the sides and holding them until they dry…. due to the number of drawers, find a good TV show to watch before starting this step.

Assemble the Tower and then add a little black around the edges – just a tip as it removes any white edges when you sanded back the edges and insert the drawers.

I hope you enjoy making this and if you would like the supplies, drop by our website and you can buy the timber and paper kit under Card Kits. http://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/?wpsc_product_category=card-kits

All Year Long

Hi Everyone

Here’s another card that I created from Magnolia’s Sea Breeze Collection 2013.

This is Bikini Tilda who I have mounted on some Magnolia Memory Shells (from a previous release).  I coloured Tilda with Copic Markers – E00, E11, R20, E33, Y21, Y17, R22, R46, R59.

The background paper is HP Colour Laser Jet paper in 200gsm and I applied a Distress Stains Tumbled Glass to the top and then Wild Honey and Scattered Straw to the lower half.

Once dry, I then stamped Magnolia’s Vintage Swedish Coast Cottage using a Memento Ink Pad and coloured them with Copic Markers B93, B95, B97, B99, R22, R46, R59.  The roof and doors was coloured using E41, E43, E47 and E59.

Best Wishes

Hi Everyone

I fell in love with Magnolia’s new ‘Summer Flower’ stamp when I first saw it on their website and was really excited when the latest release arrived.

I created this first card using Bazzill Lily White and Leapfrog and used some pink Kaisercraft paper (sorry, I don’t have the code).

I stamped the background Lily White card with Darkroom Doors – Postcards Background stamp using a Distress Ink Pad – Bundled Sage.

I stamped 3 Summer Flowers using a Memento Ink Pad and coloured them with Copic Markers – Y11, YR04, G29, G24 and G21.  I then cut out the flowers with a slight halo around the outline.

After preparing the card, as shown, I then applied glue to the stems of the flowers and then mounted the flowers.  These are one piece, I just put mounting tape on the back of the flowers.

Now – the words.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Darkroom Door new stamp set ‘Simple Sayings’.  Here I have used the ‘Best Wishes’ words.

Not only does this stamp set have a great range of words and font – each word comes in 2 sizes – soooo, I then created a gift card (10x20cm) using the same flower and background but used the smaller size ‘Best Wishes’.

Until next time…Happy Stamping
Michelle

Calender Project – August 2013

Hi Everyone

Our Calender Project continues this month with the second of Chery’s pages – August.

Cheryl used the wonderful Hero Arts Garden Bouquet stamp set to create this amazing page.

With a base of black card, Cheryl added a layer of white card and stamped the French words from the Stampers Anonymous Papillion (CMS106) stamp set using Versamark and dusted it with Perfect Pearls Sunflower powder.

The coloured cards are coloured with Distress Ink Pads – Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade.  Cheryl then stamped the French words with Versamark and dusted it with Perfect Pearls Sunflower powder.  Cheryl then stamped the Garden Bouquet on the 3 pieces of card using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

A wonderful addition to our Calender Project.

French Country

Hi Everyone

I love the new Graphic 45 – French Country papers and when I combined it with the Kaisercraft Stationery Organiser I created this great organiser.

I started by painting the Stationery Organiser with Kaisercraft Black paint.  I covered the back with the Grandeur paper, sides with French Country paper and then the inside with Grandeur and Promenade papers.

The two front dividers were made using the A La Carte papers which is a page with 6 labels on it and is the perfect width for these dividers.  I selected the Sunflowers and Bonne Chance pieces.

The drawer at the bottom is painted in Kaisercraft Black paint (inside and out) and then I cut a piece from the French Country paper.

The Graphic 45 papers are $1.30 each and are available instore and will be on our website shortly.

Butterfly Post Collage Stamp – Card 2

Hi Everyone

I’m back with my second Butterfly Post Collage Stamp.

I have made a Pansy square card (10.5×10.5cm) and stamped the Happy Birthday Word Block stamp all over it.

I layered the card then with Parakeet and Lily White card (edges distressed).

I stamped two sets of Butterfly Post Collage Stamps on the Lily White card.

On one set, I coloured the squares with Distress Markers – Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans, Mustard Seed and Dusty Concord.

I then took the second image and didn’t colour in the butterflies.  I then cut out the butterflies and adhered them to the squares.

I used 4 squares in the background and then mounted another image on top.  Lastly I applied some Viva Décor – Black Pearl Pen to the bodies of the butterflies, just to finish them off.

Happy Stamping

Butterfly Post Collage Stamp – Card 1

Hi Everyone

Wow, what a wonderful weekend full of sun and great temperatures in Brisbane, more of that please.

I was reading the Darkroom Door blog and got all inspired by a post they had with the Butterfly Post Collage Stamp and wanted to tweak it a little.

I started by stamping the Butterfly Post on two pieces of Bazzill Lily White card.

I stamped the image with Archival Jet Black and coloured the butterflies and squares with Distress Markers – Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade.

On the first stamped piece, I cut out the squares and adhered them to another piece of Lily White card and then with the other stamped image, I cut out the butterflies and adhered them to the card only around the body of the butterflies so I could lift up the wings.

I then adhered the card onto Bazzill Parakeet card and the base card is Admiral with I had stamped the Happy Birthday Word Block stamp over.

Calender Project

Hi Everyone

Our Calender Project continues this month with Cheryl’s July page.

Using the Darkroom Door Seashells Stamp Set (DDRS055) and a mix of brown ink pads, Cheryl stamped the seashells out, cut them out and created this mix.

Layered on pearlescent card and dark brown card, this is a lovely card which could be made into a card.

Time Travellers

Hi Everyone

Phew, we are finally unpacked from the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo and life is getting back to normal.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by and welcome to our new friends on Facebook.

It’s time for the creative juices to start flowing and I started to play with the Stampers Anonymous ‘Time Travellers’ (CMS157) stamp set.

The large images are all masked, so on HP Colour LaserJet paper (200gsm), I started with the Gent at the front right and stamped him with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.  I them made a mask on a Post-It note and laid it over him.  I then stamped the other Gent to the left, made another mask and then stamped the Cogs in the background.  All of these images were stamped with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.

I then started colouring with Copic Markers E00, E11, E41, E43, E47, E49, 100, W3, W5 and W7.  I blended around the edges with Distress Ink Pads Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain.

I stamped the numbers from a Stampers Anonymous word set and then the Lock and Key (Stampers Anonymous set Mini Blueprints 3 – CMS150) were stamped on some scraps of paper and coloured with the Copic Markers E41, E43, E47, E49, then cut out and adhered to the front of the card.

I layered the card on Beetle Black, Java and Dotted Swiss – Rope Swing.

A great ‘Gent’s card.

We have some great demonstrations done by the talented Cheryl, Linda and Jennifer so please stop by and have a look.

We have lots of stock arriving this week including orders from the US, re-stocking all of our Copic Markers and a mammoth order from Darkroom Door which includes all of the new background and collage stamps.

Darkroom Door’s classes at the show are nearing capacity, one of the classes is sold out but there are still some spaces in the other classes.  I’m rather jealous that I don’t get to do the classes, so please come past and show me what you make.

We have a 1 hour workshop each day at 11am – a Grungepaper Technique class, showing you lots of things you can do with Grungepaper.  The classes are $20 and all you need to bring is a Non-stick craft sheet.

We are looking forward to seeing you all at the show, so please come by and say HI.

Heartfelt Creation – Roses

Hi Everyone

More playing with the Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret Frame Precut Set (HCPC3522) this weekend where I went a little insane (more about that shortly).

I stamped the image on HP Colour LaserJet paper (200gsm) with Memento Tuxedo Jet Black and coloured with Copic Markers E43, E47, E49, YG63 and YG67.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with the background, colour it?  distress it? no, I had to make it hard for myself and hand cut background away from the vine and leaves…. crazy I know!!!

I know that there is a die that does this, but I wanted to get a little closer and I love seeing the texture from the Bazzill Creampuff behind it.

The words in the frame are from Darkroom Door Full Bloom Vol 2 (DDRS004) and were stamped on Bazzill Mauve.

Anyone who attended our classes this month, would be familiar with the Roses from Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret stamp set.  Stamped with Archival Coffee and coloured with Distress Ink Pad – Victorian Velvet.

Heartfelt Creations

Hi Everyone

This weekend I have been playing with the Heartfelt Creations – Vintage Floret Frame Precut Set (HCPC3522).

I stamped the image with a Memento Tuxedo Jet Black ink pad and coloured the background with Tumbled Glass Distress Stain.

I coloured the frame with Copic pens E43, E47 and E49.  The vine was coloured with YG63 and YG67 and then the flowers with B93, B95 and B97.

I cut out the centre circle and stamped the Darkroom Door words (from Full Bloom Vol 2 DDRS004) on Creampuff and inserted it behind.

The card was then mounted on Bazzill Dotted Swiss Rip Tide.

Playing with Roses and Distress

Hi Everyone

As many of you know, the Darkroom Door – Bright Blossoms Vol 2 (DDRS108) is one of my favourite stamp sets, especially after our April class where we stamped and coloured the image with Distress Ink Pad Picked Raspberry.

On Saturday night, I was preparing some more ATC’s for demos at the June Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo and started to play some more….. the results were….

a collection of Roses.  In this collection, I used Distress Ink Pads – Wild Honey, Barn Door, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo.

To colour the roses, stamp the image on 300gsm Watercolour paper using your chosen Distress Ink Pad (here I used Barn Door).  You’ll notice that the image is a little patchy because of the texture in the watercolour paper…no problems, a little water will fix that.?

Colour over the solid parts of the rose with a waterbrush and allow to dry a little.  Bring your brush a little further out into each petal so that the colour is slightly diluted.?

Keep moving the colour out until there is only a little white around each petal.  ?

To see this in person, stop by our stand at the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo at the South Brisbane Convention Centre 8-10 June.

It’s Your Day To Celebrate

Hi Everyone

Dahlias are lovely flowers and this card has been made with Penny Black’s Dahlia’s unmounted stamp set (30-159).

I stamped the two Dahlia images using Memento Tuexdo Ink Pad and then coloured it with Copic pens RV29, RV21, RV14, YG67, YG63 and YG11.

When colouring the petals of the flowers, colour the darker pen colours to the centre of the petals and lighter colours to the outer tips and then repeat the same with the leaves.

I used Bazzill Fawn and Lily white card.  The blue paper is white paper covered with Peacock Feathers Distress Stain and then stamped with Hero Arts Looped Flower CG504 with Distress Ink Pad Salty Ocean.

The words ‘It’s Your Day To Celebrate’ is from Hero Arts Many Birthday Messages (CL611) stamp set.

Field of Poppies

Hi Everyone

This stamp is Penny Black’s Field of Poppies 4308K and when stamped in a line, form a lovely card.

I have used Bazzill Pomegranate, Sunbeam, Pear and Creampuff card to form the base.  The Poppies were stamped and coloured on the Creampuff card.

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and heat set it a little so that the ink was fully dry in the textured parts of the card.

I coloured the images with Copic pens R02, R05, R27, R59, G21, G24, G28, YR23, YR31, YR68.

I then wrapped black ribbon around the layers of Creampuff, Pear and Sunbeam and adhered it to the Pomegranate card.

I stamped the words from Stamp It on circles cut from Dienamics Mini Doily Circles.

G’Day from Sydney

G’Day Everyone

I have been playing with the Darkroom Door Sydney Vol 2 collection and made this card using the Sydney Harbour Bridge image.

To colour the image, I stamped two images on HP Colour LaserJet paper (200gsm from Officeworks) an using Archival Jet Black ink pad.

On the first image, I coloured the background with Tumbled Glass Distress Stain.  Using Distress Markers – Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Tumbled Glass I coloured the Harbour waters and then using Pumice Stone and Forest Moss, I coloured the city landscape.

On the second image, I coloured the bridge with Pumice Stone and then cut out the bridge and mounted it on the other image.

I layered the card on Bazzill Creampuff, Admiral and Dotted Swiss Rope Swing card.

I stamped the words G’day from Sydney!’ using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and then wrapped it around the top right of the card.

May 2013 Calendar Project

Hi Everyone

Our calendar project continues this month with Linda’s May page.

Linda’s new favourite stamp pad is Hero Arts Bubblegum dye ink pad and created this page using this stamp pad.

Using Penny Black’s Glory of Modesty (40-206), Linda stamped the left side with the Bubblegum ink pad.

On the right side, Linda stamped Glory of Modesty with Versamark on white paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Linda then coloured the flowers by blending the Bubblegum ink over the stamped image.

The flower in the centre is Hero Arts Three Dotted Flowers (CG291) which was stamped on white card with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Linda then coloured the flowers with the Bubblegum ink pad and Distress ink pads for the leaves.

Recipe – Red Velvet Cupcakes

Hi Everyone

Yesterday I spent a wonderful day with the Cameo Papercrafts Club at Lawnton where I demo’d 3 Darkroom Door cards using the Bright Blossoms stamp sets.

I bought with me my ‘world famous’ (ok, maybe not world famous, but many of you who have been to the weekend classes have tasted them) Red Velvet Cupcakes and I have been asked for the recipe many times.

Credit must be paid to www.taste.com.au where I found the recipe and it is a very easy recipe… pull out your mixing bowl and here goes.

Red Velvet Cupcakes
350g (2 1/3 cups) Plain Flour
2 Tab Cocoa powder
1 tea Bicarbonate of Soda
1 tea Baking Powder
315g (1 1/2 cups) Caster Sugar
250ml (1 cup) Buttermilk
185ml (3/4 cup) Vegetable Oil
2 Eggs
3 tea Red Food Colouring
2 tea White Vinegar
250g packet Cream Cheese (at room temperature)
100g butter (at room temperature)
195g (1 1/4 cups) Pure Icing Sugar
1 tea Vanilla Extract
Sprinkles

Preheat your oven to 180’C.  Line muffin pans with paper cases.
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder into a large bowl.  Sift in the sugar.

In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk, oil, eggs, food colouring and vinegar until just combined.

In the dry ingredients bowl, make a well in the centre and add the buttermilk mixture and stir until just combined.

Divide the mixture among the prepared pans and bake for 20-25minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centres comes out clean.  Transfer the cupcakes to a wire rack to cool completely.

Cream Cheese Frosting
Using a electric beater, beat the cream cheese, butter, icing sugar and vanilla in a bowl until smooth.

Pipe the frosting over the cupcakes and top with the sprinkles.

Baked with Love

Hi Friends

Magnolia’s last release included two stamps that work perfectly together ‘Tilda with Love Cake’ and ‘Baked with Love’.

I created 2 cards, a normal A5 size card and a square card that is 10x10cm.

The A5 card
On HP Colour Laser Paper (200gsm), I cut out a circle using a Nestabilities die and then blended Scattered Straw over it, before I removed the die.  I then stamped the ‘Baked With Love’ with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.

Colour with Copic Pens E31, E35, E37, R81, R83, R85, RV29, B00, B02 and B05.  Cut a scallop circle from Rip Tide Dotted Swiss card and adhere.

Stamp Tilda on the HP Colour Laser paper using a Tuxedo Jet Black ink pad and colour with Copic pens E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, R81, R83, R85, C0, C3 and C5.

Layer up and stamp ‘Happy Birthday’ from Darkroom Door’s All Occasions stamp set.

The Gift Card
Stamp ‘Baked with Love’ on the HP Colour Laser paper and cut out.  Colour with Copic pens E31, E35, E37, R81, R85, RV29, C0, C3 and C5.

Stamp the words from Hero Arts stamp set CL611 Many Birthday Messages.  Pop some clear Stickles on the top cupcakes and adhere the card as shown.

Bright Blossoms Photochips

Hi Everyone

I was inspired by a card I saw on Darkroom Door’s website showing the Bright Blossoms Photochips and have created my own.

Starting with a Bazzill Walnut card and then stamped the French Script background using an Archival Coffee ink pad.

Using the new Darkroom Door Lace stamp set (DDRS112), I stamped one of the pieces with Versamark and them embossed it with Seafoam White embossing powder.

By using the Seafoam White embossing powder, the lace looks like real lace.

The words are from the Darkroom Door Bright Blossoms vol 2 (DDRS108), stamped with Versamark and embossed with Seafoam White embossing powder.

Finish the card with layers of Fawn, Creampuff and Pinecone and add an image from the Bright Blossoms Photochips page.

It’s Penny Black’s Cupcake Strut (4318K) and is a wood mount stamp.
The background is Hero Arts Heart Background (CG505) which has been stamped using Distress Ink Pad – Picked Raspberry and the words are from Penny Black’s Sweet Wishes cling stamp set.
I have coloured the image with Copic Markers E00, E11, R20, E35, E37, R81, R83, R85 and R37
The cupcakes hearts have been topped with a little Stickles – Rock Candy the accent them.

Calendar Project – April 2013

Hi Everyone

I have just spent a fantastic day crafting with my friends Cheryl, Jennifer and Linda, eating lots of … well, I’ll call it ‘craft food’ (Biggest Loser might have another name for it), making cards, chatting and more chatting.
This is the first of Linda’s Calendar being April 2013 made using Graphic 45’s Bird Song papers.  Linda made a combination of blue or red and here is the blue version.
Have a fantastic April and Happy Stamping.

Bright Blossoms vol 1 (part 2)

Hi Everyone

Here’s another card that I created using the Darkroom Door Bright Blossoms Vol 1 stamp set.
I started with a base card of Bazzill Pansy and stamped the Damask Background Stamp (DDBS011) over it using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.
Layering up with Bazzill Creampuff and Pear (also stamped with the Damask Background Stamp) and stamping the words from the stamp set on a scallop circle.
I stamped the flowers on the HP Colour Laser paper and coloured it with Copic Markers V000, V12, V15 and V09.  I then blended a little Distress Black Soot ink pad around the edges and then mounted it on Bazzill Beetle Black and Cream Puff.
This stamp set is certainly lots of fun to play with.

Bright Blossoms Vol 1

Hi Everyone

I got so excited when Darkroom Door released their latest release of stamps – because I fell in love with the Bright Blossoms vol 1 and 2.
I started by playing with Bright Blossoms vol 1 (DDRS107) and have created 2 cards to show you – this being the first.
I started with a Bazzill Criss Cross Princess card and stamped the Darkroom Door Damask background stamp (DDBS011) using a Versamark ink pad and then applied Perfect Pearls over the top.
Stamp the words ‘Warmest Wishes’ to the lower left corner using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.
On White card, I stamped the Damask image again with Archival Jet Black and adhered it down the side.
Using a scallop Dienamics, cut an edge and then adhere ribbon around the card.
Stamp two Gerberas on HP ColourLaser paper and colour using Copic Markers RV10, RV13, RV14, RV69, E37, E49 and E57.  With the petals, I kept it darker towards the centre of the flower and lighter on the edges.  Also, pay attention to petals that are behind another and create shadows with a darker pen.
I applied some C5 to the background of one of the images to darken it a little more.  Cut the other Gerbera out and mount it on the bacse image.
Happy Stamping (and warmest wishes)

Thank You Melbourne

Hi Everyone

We’re back from our trip to Melbourne where we exhibited at the first ever Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo outside of Brisbane.

The show started on Friday and finished on Sunday and ‘what fun we had’.  During the days we met lots of people and demo’d lots of products and then at night off to Haighs Chocolate and Ganache Chocolate for some serious hits of chocolate.

We were also fortunate to have the help of Darkroom Door who sent their latest release to us in Melbourne so that we had them there to sell.   The only problem I have now is that I forgot to set some aside for myself and they are on the pallets, currently on route home to Brisbane — I’ll just have to wait.

Speaking of the pallets, as they are currently heading home to Brisbane, we are rather low on stock in the shop so web orders will be held until we have unpacked.  We hope to have the pallets arrive by the end of this week and will unpack over the weekend.

Also a reminder that there are no classes this weekend.

Lastly, I want to thank Cheryl for her fantastic demoing over the weekend.  Cheryl demo’d for the 3 days straight and provided our visitors with ideas for their next project.  Thank you for giving up your weekend, we really appreciate it.

I hope to see you all in Brisbane from the 8th – 10th June at the Brisbane Convention Centre, South Bank.

Calendar Project 2013 – March

Hi Everyone

The 1st of March is here and is very exciting for us.  Today the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo starts in Melbourne and we are set and ready to go.
Today also continues our 2013 Calendar project and is the last of Jennifer’s pages.

Jennifer loves Steampunk as a theme and I love this page.  Using a Steampunk theme background paper, Jennifer accented the page with gears, balloon, clock parts and the Hero Arts Newspaper Skyline (S5573).

Classic Tea Flower

Hi Everyone

Our bags are packed and we’re off to Melbourne.

Here’s a card I wanted to share using Hero Arts Classic Tea Flower (H5577), Darkroom Door’s background stamps – Floral and French Script and Stampers Anonymous – Simple Sayings (CMS155).

I cut the tag from Dienamics Traditional Tag Stax and the border from Heartfelt Creations – Decorative Blossom Corner (HCD729).

On the Pear card, I stamped the Darkroom Door Floral stamp using Distress Ink Pad Bundled Sage.  On the Creampuff tag, I stamped the Tea Flower using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and then made a mask of the flower and then stamped the French Script using Distress Ink Pad – Old Paper.  I smudged the edges (and the script a little – oops, but I liked the effect) and then coloured the flower with Distress Markers Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Barn Door, Forest Moss, Peeled Paint and created shadows using Old Paper.
The Decorative Blossom Corner was cut from Bazzill Walnut and adhere to the front of the card using glue.
I added some ribbon and twine to the top of the tag and adhered the front to a Creampuff card.

Tall Flower Gift Cards

Hi Everyone

I have used the Hero Arts Tall Flower (K5431) a number of times in the past but I love to create sets of gift cards and love this set.
I have used Bazzill White, Beetle Black, Bluebell, Princess and Wisteria and stamped the Tall Flower on the right side of the card.  I then stamped the Tall Flower on the HP Laser Color paper and colured the buds with Copic Markers (V12, V15, V17, R81, R83, R85 and B00, B02 and B05) and then cut them out and adhere them to the front of the card.

For words, I used Darkroom Door String Sentiments (DDRS066) and Hero Arts Yummy Treats (CL489).

Valentine’s tag-ish (part 1)

Hi Everyone

I have been playing with Dienamics ‘Tag, You’re It’ and Penny Black’s ‘Piece of My Heart’ 30-042 stamp set and created 3 tags with a difference.

Here’s my first tag-ish – 2 Hedgehogs with a heart jigsaw.

The reason I call it a tag-ish is that I turned it into a Easel card.

I started by cutting out 3 tags from Bazzill Pomegranate.  The front and back tags are left flat but have the same layers of paper.

On the last tag (which will go into the centre), score a line across the top, around 1cm from the top and make a valley fold.  Now fold the whole tag in half, a mountain fold, texture side up.

Adhere the thin scored part of the tag to the back tag and then the lower folded part to the front tag.
Stamp the words on the front and inside of the card as shown.  These words come in the stamp set.
The hedgehogs were coloured with E50, E31, E35 and E37 and the hearts in R81, R83, R85, R27 and R59.
Keep an eye out over the next couple of days for more tags and Valentine ideas.

I collected sooo many catalogues at CHA that I had to post them home and on Friday, they finally arrived.

Yesterday I flicked through them with Robyn and showed her some of the items I’ve ordered.

We thought, that if you live close by, you might also like to have a look through.

If you are interested, give Robyn a call and organise a time to come over.  We will take pre-orders on anything in the catalogues and set them aside for you when they arrive.

CHA Wrap up

Hi Everyone

I arrived back in Australia on Tuesday after a quick trip to the US for Winter CHA, Disneyland visit and Las Vegas.

It was my first trip to CHA and I was blown away – not only by what I saw but also the size of the show.

Tim Holtz was there (of course) and released some new stamp sets, Sizzix dies and Distress Paints.  If you have a look around Youtube, you’ll find some videos of the Distress Paints and I have to say, I’ll be getting the full set for myself when they arrive.

Spellbinders had a large display featuring their new ‘Media Mixage’ range which is the new evolution of Spellbinders dies and embossing folders.

I also bumped into the lovely Rachel Greig from Darkroom Door and caught up with her – please don’t send me emails or phone me about the next cruise, I know nothing!!!

There were lots of smaller companies to see and I have placed some orders which will be arriving in the coming weeks (how exciting, it will be like Christmas).

I know a lot of your love Penny Black and they released their new catalogue at CHA.

http://pennyblackinc.com/catalogs/2013_Penny_Black_spring.pdf

I have a rather large order coming, so if there is anything you would like set aside, please drop us an email.  I expect delivery of this late next week and will have them on our website then.

Have a wonderful Australia Day weekend and hope to see you all soon.

Butterflies, Butterflies and more Butterflies

 Hi Everyone

Here’s heaps of Butterflies to brighten your day.

The butterflies are cut from the Dienamics Butterflies set, but only using the 2 larger dies.

I started with Bazzill Jacaranda, Petunia and White for the card base.  On the Bazzill White, I stamped Hero Arts S5601 Newspaper Background using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and then blended a little Distress Ink Pad – Worn Lipstick around the edge.

The butterflies were all cut from the same card colours – Petunia, Sunbeam and Jacaranda.  On the larger butterfly, I blended Distress Ink Pad – Wild Honey, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean to create a contrast.
After adhering the butterflies to the front of the card, I placed some Stickles glitter glue through the centre of each butterflies.

Our Friendship is Special

Hi Everyone

I was playing with Penny Black’s Gossamer stamp (3865K) and created this card.  It’s perfect for a landscape, portrait or even square card, all using the same layout.
I started by stamping the flowers over the Bazzill White and then stamped the words from Hero Arts Fancy Friendship stamp set (CL295).  I then coloured the flowers with Copic Pens RV10, RV13, RV69, G24 and G28.
Layer the card on Bazzill Leapfrog and Dotted Swiss Blissful and trim with some ribbon.

SMILE

Hi Everyone

I love making gift cards and square gift cards are my favourite.

I came across this Hero Arts stamp set CL491 ‘Made With Love’ and just a hint ladies, you will be using it in our February class.
I started with a Bazzill Fawn card cut the 10cm x 20cm and then layered with Pinecone and Bazzill White.
I cut a Nestabilities square from another piece of Bazzill White and blended Distress Ink pad – Peeled Paint over it.   I then stamped Tim Holtz Papillion words over it to create a background using an Archival Coffee ink pad.
I stamped the words ‘You make me’ on the lower right corner and then stamped it in the same place on the white card so that only ‘Smile’ appears on it.
I used a butterfly from the Darkroom Door ‘Wings’ stamp set stamped on HP Color Laser Paper 200gsm (my new Yes paper) and blended Distress Ink pads Walnut Stain and Wild Honey over it and adhered to the top left corner.

On the White card, I stamped Hero Arts K4900 Decorate Bamboo, inked with Distress Ink Pad – Forest Moss and then I coloured over the bamboo trunks with Distress Marker – Walnut Stain.  The words are from Hero Arts unmounted set CL267.

The lanterns are from Hero Arts set CL297 Four Dolls and coloured with Copic Markers R59, R27, R05, G28, G24, G21, Y17, Y15 and Y11.

“Thanks”

Hi Everyone

I created this ‘thanks’ card after playing with the My Favorite Things Alphabet Dienamics.

I started with a Bazzill Ivy card base and layered with White, Candle and Chiffon card.

On the Chiffon card, I stamped Hero Arts Dots & Flowers stamp (S5213) using Distress Ink Pad Squeezed Lemonade.  I then layed the letters for the word ‘thanks’ on the Chiffon card and used a rular to straighten them up.  I then placed a strip of sticky tape over the letters to hold them in place.  I then run them through the Cuttlebug / Big Shot and then removed the tape and letters.  I then adhere the layers in place.
The flowers have been created using Dienamics ‘Prima Donna Petals’ die and have been cut from Bazzill White, Chiffon and Candle.  After adhering the to front of the card, I applyed some Stickles glitter to the centre.

Garden Bouquet (card 2)

 Hi Everyone

My play time continues and so does my time with the Hero Arts – Garden Bouquet stamp CG172.

The base card size is 10cm x 20 cm and I have kept the same colour scheme of Bazzill White, Pinecone and Aloe Vera but this time made a small gift card.

On the main layer of the card, I stamp the Darkroom Door French Script with an Archival Coffee Ink Pad and then stamped the Garden Bouquet with Versamark and embossed with Seafoam White embossing powder.

I coloured some thin ribbon with a Copic E15 pen and tied it around the card.
After assembling the card, I adhered some white pearls to accent the centre of each flower and coloured the pearls with Copic pen E15.

Garden Bouquet (card 1)

Hi Everyone

Over the Christmas / New Year break I have had lots of play time and have lots to share.
Here’s the first card for the year using Hero Arts CG172 Garden Bouquet.
The card is layered on Bazzill White, Pinecone and finally Aloe Vera.
I lightly stamped Darkroom Door’s French Script background stamp using an Archival Coffee Ink Pad and then stamp the Garden Bouquet using Versamark and emboss it with white embossing powder.
I allowed the embossed image to cool and then blended Distress Ink Pad – Tea Dye around the image.
I added some ribbon, card cut from a Dienamic die and words from Penny Black’s Gratitude setmp set 30-105.

To accent the centre of each flower, I adhered a white Kaisercraft Pearl and then coloured them with Copic Pen E15.

Calendar Project 2013 – January

Hi Everyone

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  We hope 2013 is a fantastic year for everyone.
This year Cheryl, Linda, Jennifer and I have continued our Calendar project and 2013 kicks off with Jennifer’s January calendar.
Jennifer picked an Australian theme for the January page and used the Darkroom Door’s Old Car (DDPS016) and used a white wax crayon to highlight areas of the car before blending over the card with Distress Ink Pads Peeled Paint and Broken China.

Pansies Part 2

Hi Everyone

Like I said on Friday, I have been playing with a Christmas present – Darkroom Door’s Pansies Photostamp (DDPS018).

Here’s my second card using this stamp where I have stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copic Markers RV10, RV13, RV29, RV69, Y11, Y17 and YR04.

I have layered the card on Bazzill Leapfrog, White and Dotted Swiss Romantic Mauve and Blissful.
The words across the bottom of the card is from the Hero Arts CL295 Fancy Friendship unmounted stamp set.

When adhering the Pansies to the card, I wraped the edges around the back of the card and adhered another piece of Leapfrog to the back to secure the ends (as they only just make it) and to tidy up the back of the card.  I also ran some clear Stickles along to top and bottom of the Pansies as an extra trim.

Christmas Magnolia Frame 3

Hi Everyone

This is the last of my three Kaisercraft / Magnolia Christmas Frames.
In the background, I have used Magnolia’s ‘Edwin’s Town’ and in the front ‘Wrapped Presents’, ‘Tilda with Wedding Gifts’ and ‘Tilda with Fir’.
Across the top, I used My Favorite Things Dienamics ‘Vine Border’ and turned them into glittery lights.  I cut the Vine Border from Bazzill Ivy, Marashino and Beeswax.  Take the Beeswax card and cut ever second ‘light’ off.  Do the same with the Marashion (alternativing from the ones you cut from the Beeswax.  Lastly take the Ivy card and cut all ‘lights’ off.  Adhere the three together.  When you have them on the frame, apply Stickles to the ‘lights’ and Glossy Accents to the ‘cord’.  Wah-la – glittery lights.
The images have been coloured with Copic Markers – E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, C3, C7, G21, G24, G28, R05, R27 and R59.
I also added Glossy Accents to the wax seals on the presents and both of Tilda’s shoes.
Given it’s Friday, have a great last day of work and a wonderful weekend.

Magnolia Christmas Frame 1

Hi Everyone
Earlier this year I created three frames with a Magnolia girls theme which many have loved seeing.
I was thinking – wouldn’t it be great to have a Christmas set…. so here’s my first frame.

The frames are from Kaisercraft and this frame features Magnolia’s Jingle Jangle Tangle in the background, Fireplace with Stockings and Tilda Santa’s Little Helper.  All of these have been coloured with Copic Markers – E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, G21, G24, G28, R05, R27, R59, Y21, YR23.

Around the front, I have used Magnolia’s Doo Hickey ‘Spruce Twig’ cut from Bazzill Ivy and Leapfrog and My Favorite Things Dienamics ‘Many Hearts’.

I hope that this inspires you to pull out a project and make a Christmas decoration.

Stop by again on Wednesday to see my next frame.

Christmas Cooking

Hi Everyone

Each year at work, we celebrate Christmas week and tomorrow is our first day and it’s the Christmas Bake Sale.
This year I have made Pistachio Fudge, Macadamia Gingernut Balls, Coconut Ice (traditional and Christmas colours) and Christmas Bark.
To top each, I made a label using the My Favorite Things ‘Stocking Trio’ cut from Bazzill Ivy, Leapfrog and Pomegranate and accented with a small star cut from Bling (MFT Star Stax).  On the back, I wrote the name of each product.
Fingers crossed, we sell everything.  All money goes to charity.

Surfing Christmas

Hi Everyone

My third and last Darkroom Door Surfboards card is a Christmas card.  I have stamped the surfboards using an Archival Jet Black ink pad, coloured the sky with a Tumbled Glass Distress Stain and then coloured the background with Distress Markers .
I coloured the Surfboards with the green Distress Markers and mounted them up to create a little dimension.  I have added a gold star brad to the top of the largest surfboard, topping my surfboard Christmas Tree.
The words are from Darkroom Doors All Occasions stamp set (DDRS035).  I layered the card on Lily White, Leapfrog, Pomegranate and Admiral card and on the Leapfrog card, stamped one of the Christmas Inchies using a Forest Moss Distress ink pad.

A very Australia Christmas card.

Darkroom Door – Card Number 2

Hi Everyone

Following on from my card on Monday, here’s my card number 2 using Darkroom Doors – Surfboards Photo Stamp – DDPS021.
I wanted to make this into a portait card, so I trimmed the image down to 9.5cm wide and this time I coloured the image with Distress Stain (Tumbled Glass for the sky) and Distress Markers.
I have coloured the image 3 times, once for the background, next for all five surfboards and lastly the two surfboards that stand in front.
I have also used the Seashells (DDRS055) stamp set for the words and coral along the bottom of the card.  The background texture is background stamp – Mesh.
Assemble the card on Bazzill card and tie twine around to accent the card.

Darkroom Door – Surfboards

Hi Everyone
When Rachel sent me an email with the latest release of stamps, one stamp hooked me from the start – Photostamp – DDPS021 Surfboards.
Today I have been playing with this stamp and have come up with 3 card samples to tempt you.
In today’s card, I have stamped the Surfboards with a Memento Tuxedo Jet Black ink pad and coloured it with Copic Markers.  I coloured two images and adhered the surboards over the background photo stamp.
As the image was a little bright for the card colours I selected, I coloured over the top of the image with Distress Stain – Picket Fence.  This gave a great white-wash over the image.
Combine with some Montage images and adhere to Bazzill card.
Happy Stamping

Christmas Gift Idea

Hi Everyone

I was playing around with some ideas for Christmas gifts you can give family and friends and came up with these cut cards.
I used Bazzill card stock cut into 10x20cm rectangles.  The flower is Magnolia’s Fantasy Flower and I coloured the flower to match the card using Copic Markers.
The words are a mix of Stamp It and Hero Arts words, stamped with an Archival Jet Black ink pad.
HINT: As I stamped the words on Bazzill, sometimes the inked stamp leaves gaps.  Fill these gaps in with a Copic Multi Liner pen in either a 0.3 or 0.8 pen size.
Tied with a bow these cards will make a great gift.

Mr Bright Ideas

Hi Everyone
It’s now my time to play with Darkroom Door’s Mr Bright Ideas.
As you know, I love playing with Copics and layered so my card has been coloured with Copics, layered and accented with Glossy Accents and Crackle Accents.
Use Copic pens C00, C3, C5, C7, Y11, YR23, B93, B97, E50, E31, E35 and E37.
The background has been stamped from a Hero Arts time stamp.  The word ‘Steampunk’ is from the Darkroom Door stamp set DDRS068 (Steampunk).
The clock in the background has been edged with Glossy Accents and when dry I applied Crackle Accents.  Crackle Accents looks like Glossy Accents and as it dries, it crackles – all by itself.

Garden Inchies

Hi Everyone
Cheryl created this great card using the Darkroom Door Garden Inchies and String Sentiments.
Cheryl coloured the images with Copic pens V17, BV02, G24 and Y11.
Knowing Cheryl, the card is Bazzill Pansy (Cheryl’s favourite card) and layered with Bazzill Leapfrog and Aloe Vera and trimmed with purple ribbon.
This card design is a fantastic design as you can use it for any theme especially as the Garden Inchies are not specific to a theme and the String Sentiments have a number of options.
Have a great weekend

I’ve been having a play with the Penny Black ‘Gossamer’ stamp (3865K) which we used in our May 2012 class.
Here I have stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copic Pens R59, R85, R83, R81, G21 and G24.

I have layered the card on Pinecone followed by Juneberry and used Basic Grey ‘Kissing Booth’ paper as the final layer.

After adhering the layers and satin ribbon, I added a pearl in the centre of each flower.

…Wishes

Hi Everyone

Cheryl has been playing around with the Penny Black unmounted stamp set ‘…Wishes’ and making some great mini cards.

Start by stamping on the inside of your card and colour.

Place a circle Nestabilities over the image, with masking tape sticky side up and close the card.  When you open it again, the Nestabilities will be attached to the front of the card.  Run through a Cuttlebug or Big Shot and the circle will be cut for the front of the card.

Decorate the outside of the card with card and ribbon.  Compliment the circle on the front of the card by cutting out a My Favorite Things – Mini Doily Circle from co-ordinating card.

Thanks Cheryl for sharing.

Hearts a Plenty

Hi Everyone
It’s the final countddown to the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo and today is set up day.  I am not a fan of set up day, we normally arrive around 10am and leave around 8pm with very few breaks.  Fingers cross it looks fantastic when the show opens tomorrow at 9am.
This is my last card I have created for the show and had to share it with you.  I have used the Darkroom Door Hearts set a couple of times to accent other cards but this time tried to create a ‘lots of hearts’ card.
The base card with Sweetheart and layered with Romance and White with all edges distressed with the Tonic Distresser.
Ok, well we’re out of here, fingers crossed we get out a little earlier that 8pm.
Happy Stamping
Michelle
The hearts were stamped using Versamark and embossed with Seafoam White embossing powder.  I have stamped of Bazzill card Sweetheart, Romance, White and Fawn.

Viva La Paris!!

Hi Everyone

I’ve been playing with the Darkroom Door Paris stamp set and created this card.
I have started by stamping the framed Eiffel Tower on Yes paper and blending Distress Ink pads Faded Jeans and Walnut Stain over it.
I coloured the post marks with Copic pens G24, G21, YR23 and Y11 and the stamp with B95.
The Paris background was created by stamping the postcard words on Creampuff card using Faded Jeans and then stamping ‘Paris’ across the card using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.
As always, I have edged the frame with Adirondack Espresso to finish the frame.
Happy Stamping (and looking forward to seeing you all at the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo).

New York Style

Hi Everyone

I don’t use a lot of Stamps Happen stamps, but Cheryl gave me this for my birthday last September and this was my first chance to play with it.
I have stamped ‘New York Socialite’ 80426 on Yes paper and covered the background with Distress Stain Antique Linen and then blended around the edges with Distress Ink pad Wild Honey.  Once dry, I coloured in the letters in the background with Copic pen C5.
On two other stamped images, I coloured in the lady and puppy with Copic pens E00, E11, E37, R05, R81, R83, R85, 100, C1, C3, C5 and C7.  I also added some E04 on her face under the hat and chin for extra shadow.
I have started with a Bazzill White A5 card and layered with Bling colours Black Tie, Tiara and In The Pink.  The flags that were cut with Dienamics Fishtale Flag Stax.

Tilda with Winter Flowers

Hi Everyone

I have been wanting to play with this card idea for a while, I just had to pick the right image.  Whilst Tilda with Winter Flowers is a Christmas stamp, no one would know given there is no ‘Christmasy’ accents to the design.
So here goes, I have started with Pinecone followed by Lily White and Dotted Swiss Sandbox.  I have added 3 strips of Lily White down the centre then layered with Dotted Swiss Blissful, Criss Cross Princess and Lily White.
The scallop circle has been cut from Dotted Swiss Blissful and then Tilda cut from the Yes Paper.
I have coloured Tilda with E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, E50, G21, G94, R59, R37, R14 and YR23.
The words are also from Magnolia and are nice touch along with the Silver Rhinestone strips.

Kaisercraft Kits

Hi Everyone

Our order of Kaisercraft has arrived and I plonked myself on my loungeroom floor and surrounded myself with papers, paints, ribbons, flowers, brads and ALL THAT TIMBER.
But why…so I can organise some fantastic kits for sale at the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo.
These kits are perfect for a quick project or gift to make and includes lots of supplies.  All you need is glue and a sanding block.

Tilda with Teddy Bear

Hi Everyone
I created this card using a Bazzill Safari card layered with Sweetheart and decorative papers.
I created with swirls from the Die-namics Decorative Swirl and cut them from Leapfrog and the flower was a number of layers of single flowers from my embellishment stack (we all have one of those).
I stamped Magnolia’s Tilda with Teddy Bear on Yes paper and coloured her with Copic Pens E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, E50, R81, R83 and R85.  I also stamped the image again and cut out the Teddy Bear so he looks like he is sitting up a little.
‘Happy Birthday’ is also from Magnolia and the tab that it is sitting on is also a Die-namic.

Soccer Edwin

Hi Everyone

This card would be perfect for any boys who love soccer.  This is Soccer Edwin, coloured using Copic Pens E00, E11 R20, E35, E37, B93, B95, B97, B99, C5, C3, C1, Y17, Y21, Y38, YR04 and YR68.
If I’m using a specific scrapbooking paper, I find it easiest to start by selecting the paper and then working my card and colouring around it.  This scrapbooking paper is from ‘Three Bugs in a Rug’ and is called Zoo Animals.  It has stripes of blue, gree, brown and orange – so there is my colour pallette.
I have layered the card up with Bazzill cardstock including Dotted Swiss Night Water, Fawn, Parakeet and Lily White.  I cut the grass from Ivy and Leapfrog using Die-namics grass.
The words ‘It’s Your Birthday’ is from a Stamp It unmounted stamp set.

Etched Medallion

Hi Everyone

I love colouring this Hero Arts stamp ‘Etched Medallion’ S5356 as you can use any combination of colours and get lots of opportunities for shading.
In this card, I started with Bazzill Dotted Swiss Night Water and layered with Leapfrog, Cream Puff and Aloe Vera.
The new Die-namics ‘Fishtal Flag Stax’ have created the great flags down the left of the card.

Flutter-Bye

Hi Everyone

I have used the stamp a number of times when making greeting cards as it a great ‘all-rounder’ stamp.  A thinking of you, happy birthday, get well, etc.
This is Penny Black’s stamp ‘Flutter-bye’ 4057K.  I have stamped the hedgehog and butterfly on two pieces of Yes paper.  On the background I had sponged Distress Ink Pad – Tumbled Glass and created grass along the bottom with Copic pens G28 and G24.

Kaisercraft Craft Caddy

Hi Everyone

I have been playing with the Kaisercraft Craft Caddy (SB2161) for the past couple of weeks, doing a little here and there.  I have now finally finished it.
I liked the Paris Shadowbox I did with the green card and Darkroom Door Photochips, etc, so I continued that theme but this time changed it to the Viva La Flora range.
I started by painting all surfaces with two coats of Kaisercraft Black paint and followed by Kaisercraft Gloss allowing each coat to dry fully in between.
I have used Bazzill Ivy, Leapfrog and Aloe Vera.  I have stamped the card with Darkroom Door’s French Script using Distress Ink pad Forest Moss and blended the edges with Forest Moss.  Each piece of card has been cut to the same size as the piece it is covering but distressed the edges before adhereing it.
I have accented the caddy with Photochips and Montage pictures from the Darkroom Door Viva La Flora range, black grosgrain ribbon and Sizzix Elegant Flourishes cut out from black Bazzill and covered with Glossy Accents.

Flower Sweet

Hi Everyone
I’ve had my eye on this Penny Black set since it arrived and finally bought it home last weekend.  It’s called Flower Sweet, code 30-096.
I particularly like the large flower in the set and wanted to play with a colour combination that I don’t normally use – apricot.
I have used Bazzill Ivy card layered with Hopi, Leapfrog and Pear.  On the Leapfrog card, I stamped the daisy swirl usign Versamark ink pad.  In the lower right corner, I have stamp the words from the Stamp it unmounted stamp set.
I have used Copic pens G21, G94, G99, Y21, YR20 and YR02.

Bicycle

Hi Everyone
I have had this little card stached away for an upcoming class but realised there may be riots for suggesting you colour the 3 layers to this card.
This is a beautiful Darkroom Door stamp and although Rachel hasn’t named the location, it looks like Amsterdam to me.  The stamp is a photo stamp by Darkroom Door called ‘Bicycle’.
Anyway, back to the card.  I have started with Bazzill Bahama the Lily White and then Fawn.  On the Bahama and Fawn card, I stamped Darkroom Door’s Postcards using Distress Ink pad Chipped Sapphire and then smudged the edges.

I have used Copic pens – B000, E31, E35, E37, C1, C3, C5, BG09, BG10, BG13.

Stamp the ‘Bicycle’ on 3 pieces of Yes paper.  On the first piece, colour the pavement, bicycle  and the background upto the top rail.  Cut out and adhere to the next layer.  Colour the buildings, bridge and water and cut out, adhering to the last piece.  Colour the sky and trees and adhere tot he Fawn card.  Wrap some ribbon around the layers and adhere to the front of the card.

Have a wonderful day

Butterflies

Hi Everyone
I have to admit, I’m not such a fan of ‘Orange’ and the Tigerlilly Collection of papers from Kaisercraft didn’t excite me that much – until I came across the butterflies specialty paper (PS195).
This paper is thicker than the normal double sided paper and has butterflies all over it and they have been glossed.
I created this card using 7 of the butterflies which I cut out and adhered to Bazzill Lily White, Marmalade and Beetle Back card.  I smudged the edges of the Lily White with Distress Ink pad – Spun Sugar and the stamp the words from Darkroom Door String Sentiments.  I only adhered the body of the butterflies to the card and left the wings so they could be lifted when they are dry.

Penny Black …..To You

Hi Everyone
I have had the ‘To You’ unmounted stamp set from Penny Black in my collection for a while now, but just haven’t had a change to play with it.

I have coloured the large flower from this set using Copic Pens RV69, RV29, RV14 and R81 with the centre coloured in YR07 and Y06.  The base of the flower is adhered to the circle and the centre of the flower has been mounted up with mounting tape.

The words stamped in the lower left corner are from Stamp It’s unmounted stamp set siset031 stamped in Archival Jet Black on the Lily White Bazzill card.

The card layers include Bazzill’s Brandywine (you could also use Sweetheart if this isn’t available) and Leapfrog.

Hi Everyone

Quick and easy cards are essential in anyone’s collection, but sometimes having some male cards (yes, the dreaded male cards) can sometimes be a problem.

Here I have created a gift card which could be given to a male or female using Darkroom Doors Seaside Photochips and Montage along with the Art De Fleur wordstrips.

The base card – Sandbox is 10.5×10.5cm and layered up with Neptune and Lily White Bazzill.  I have added a triangle of netural corrugated card in the top left corner.

This card is quick and easy and you can make a similar selection with other 5 Photochips in the range.

Tried, Tested Tim’s Tip

Hi Everyone

On Friday, I had a play date with my friends Cheryl and Linda and the topic of stamping on polymer came up and how certain inks create a blotchy stamped image (eg Memento) but when colouring with Copics, it’s the best ink.  See the left stamped robot.

We have been following Tim Holtz’s Creative Chemistry 101 (sorry to say that it has just finished) and Linda tested the following:

Firstly, Linda inked the stamp with Archival Jet Black and allowed it to dry.  Next, ink the stamp with the ink you want to use – Memento, Distress, etc.  You will get a much clearer image.  See the robot on the right.

This technique is now TRIED, TESTED and TICKED!!  Thanks Tim.

Happy Stamping
Michelle

PS.  Linda now refers to herself as Dr Linda Wait MBBS, FRACGP and SATTT Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners and Self Appointed Timmy Technique Tester.

Kaisercraft – Memo Board

Hi Everyone

On Saturday’s Kaisercraft Play Date, I had lots of fun and made two projects. Here’s my second project – the Kaisercraft Memo Board.

I started by painted the timber in Metallic Gold, then covered it with Basic Grey’s ‘Pucker Up’ paper from the Kissing Booth range.

After sanding off the edges (and all the swirls) I adhered it together and added Romance card behind the Memo pad.

Add the hooks, 3 Mulberry flowers and rhinestone silver.

Hi Everyone

We definately had fun on Saturday during our Kaisercraft Play Date.  We started at 9am with Tara being the last to leave around 4pm meant that there were lots of projects being completed.

Here’s my first project – the Kaisercraft Desk Caddy.

I painted the box using dark brown paint (a mix of Burnt Umber and a little Black) and used the Basic Grey – Kissing Booth range of papers to cover the box.

After sanding off the edges and assembling the caddy, I attached flages from My Favorite Things – Dienamics, ribbon, rhinesones and Creampuff card around the top.  I added flourishes from Sizzix and lastly the heart from Sizzix Heart Wings cut from chipboard, coloured with brown paint and then Glossy Accents.

Penny Black – Big Wish

Hi Everyone

Tonight I have been playing with the Penny Black unmounted set called ‘Big Wish’

There are 3 lovely ladies in the set along with extras such as a cat, cupcake, butterfly and words.

Here’s one of the lovely little ladies ready to blow out her cake candles.

I have started with a Bazzill Bling ‘Feather Boa’ card and have layered it up using Lily White and some decorative paper.  There is a thin blue line in the paper, so I have used this when layering up Bazzill ‘Swimming Pool’ card and then co-ordinated the Copics when colouring her.

Copics used were – E00, E11, R20, E35, E31, YR23, Y21, BG49, BG15, BG10, Y17, Y15, Y11, R81, R83, R85 and then accented with Stickles.

Darkroom Door Paris

 Hi Everyone

I loved the ‘Seashell’ printer tray that we made on the Darkroom Door cruise (yes, I’m still talking about it) and couldn’t wait for some to arrive so I could make another.

Here’s my tribute to Paris.

The green in the background is a mix of Bazzill card stock Ivy, Leapfrog and Aloe Vera which I have stamped using Darkroom Door Postcards stamp using Forest Moss Distress Ink Pad.

All of the images are Darkroom Door Paris Photochips, Film Strips, Word Strips and Montage.

I have accented the drawers with Idea-ology Pen Nibs, Word Keys and Ornate Plates.

The word ‘Paris’ was cut out of Beetle Black Bazzill card using a Cricut font and covered with Glossy Accents.  I have also accented the lamps and Ornate Plate with Glossy Accents.

Viva Inka Gold

Hi Everyone

Our latest shipment of Inka Gold has arrived….what’s Inka Gold you ask???  Here’s what Viva say:

Viva Decor’s Inka Gold is a revolutionary product that produces an amazing metallic finish without any toxic chemicals. With beeswax as one of the main ingredients, Inka Gold is safe and easy to use in all crafting and home decor projects. Just rub it on and polish! Inka Gold comes in 20 brilliant high opacity colors. One jar of Inka Gold can cover up to 80 square feet. Excellent for refinishing or accenting furniture. Also great for paper mache boxes, chipboards, paper crafting and much more.”

To me, Inka Gold is a bit like ‘Rub n Buff’ that we used back in the 90’s.  You can apply it using a paint brush, but my preferred method is via Cut n Dry foam.  Dip your foam in the Inka Gold and rub (and buff) it onto cardstock, timber or anything you are applying it to.

There are 17 colours and the consistancy of Inka Gold is a thick paste and a small amount goes a long way.  The pots are 50gms and are $9.30 each

Red, Red Roses

 Hi Everyone
I hope everyone had a fantastic week and is ready for an even better weekend.  This weekend we have back-to-back classes so I’ll have my hands full.

Seeing this week was Valentines Day, I thought I would share this card with you.  It isn’t necessarily a Valentines card, it could be a birthday, Mother’s Day or just a general card.

This card was inspired by a card Jenny Webster made while on the stamping cruise, so thanks Jenny for the inspiration.

This card was made using the Darkroom Door Roses photostamp and was stamped onto Yes paper using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.  I have used a white wax crayon to highlight areas of the roses and then using Distress Inks and a blending tool, coloured the whole image with Victorian Velvet and then around the edges with Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany and lastly Walnut Stain.

After you have finished colouring the paper, use a paper towel to buff the wax crayon areas to remove any excess ink.

The words are from a Hero Arts word set and the flowers are from Mulberry Street Roses.

PS. Don’t forget about our Darkroom Door (tin) sale, they are going fast and at $25 (incl Ezi-mount) they are a great buy.

Tilda’s on Bracket Frame

Hi Everyone

While I was on the Darkroom Door Stamping Cruise I created this picture using a Kaisercraft Bracket Frame.

I painted the frame with a mix of Kaisercraft Red and Hot Pink paint and then covered the front with Bazzill Creampuff card and background with Blue Jean.

I have used a mix of new and not as newish Tilda’s including:
Dot Butterflies
Tilda with Daisy
Tilda with Peony Tails
Explorer Tilda
Tilda with Ponytail
Watercan Tilda
The background has – Mushrooms with Snail and Welcome To A Lovely Home.
I coloured the images using Copic Pens – E00, E11, E31, E35, E37, R02, R05, R27, B02, B05, B24.  I have also added some grass cut out from My Favorite Things – Grass from Bazzill Leapfrog and Ivy card stock.
Before adhering the front of the frame to the back, I threaded through some white stain ribbon so that it is ready to hang on a wall.
