Elizabeth Crafts
Hi Everyone
I’ve never really been into stickers, I’ve always been a ‘Stamping Girl’ but I came across Elizabeth Crafts at CHA and was instantly attracted to their new dies and then saw what they were doing with Copics and glitter – I was like a moth to a flame.
In the April Class, one of our projects involves this technique, but I thought I would give everyone a look, one a different card…..here goes.
Matterials needed:
Transparent Double Sided Adhesive
Silk Micro Fine Glitter
Stickers
Copic Markers
Create Art – Card 3
Hi Everyone
Here’s my last card for today – again using the new Darkroom Door Create Art Collage Stamp – DDCS013.
The card consists of a base of Bazzill Typhoon, Fawn and then Beetle Black.
On a Non-Stick Craft Sheet, I smudged Distress Paints Chipped Sapphire, Vintage Photo and Tarnished Pewter and the misted it with water to get the colours blending.
I then smudged an extra piece of Lily White through the paints and allowed them to dry.Once dry, I stamped the Create Art stamp using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and added extra colour to the jar, brush ends and paint lids using Distress Markers.
On a piece of Fawn card, stamp the squares
from the Darkroom Door Artist stamp set (DDRS027) and add colour using Distress Markers Faded Jeans and Vintage Photo.
After assembling the card, I added Enamel Accents Black to the words Create Art to really make them stand out.I hope you like today’s cards, I love this new release, particularly the collage and frame stamps and hope I have given you some ideas for your own play time.
Happy Stamping

Create Art – Card 2
Hi Everyone
Me again! This morning I posted a card using the new Darkroom Door Create Art Collage Stamp (DDCS013) and here’s my 2nd card.
Starting with a base of Dotted Swiss Surf’s Up and then layered with Lily White and Beetle Black.
On the Non-Stick Craft Sheet, I smudged Distress Paints Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, Mustard Seed and then spritzed water over them to get the colours blending. I then smudged 2 pieces of Lily White through them and allowed them to dry.On the main piece of card, I stamped the ‘Create Art’ using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and then added colour to the jar and paint lids using similar coloured Distress Markers.
On the other piece of white card (now coloured with Distress Paint), stamp the splatters and blotches from the Darkroom Door Artist Stamp Set (DDRS027).
Once the card is assembled, I traced over the words ‘Create Art’ using the Enamel Accents – Black and allow to dry.
There’s 1 more card today, so keep watching.

Create Art – Card 1
Hi Everyone
Over the weekend I was playing with the new Darkroom Door Collage Stamp – Create Art DDCS013.
Today I have 3 card ideas using this stamp:
Card 1
The base card is Beetle Black followed by Lily White, Sandbox and then Beetle Black again. On my Non-Stick Craft Sheet, I smudged Vintage Photo, Wild Honey and Tarnished Brass Distress Paints and misted with water to get them blending. I smudged some white card through the paint and then set it aside to dry. I then stamped the ‘Create Art’ stamp using an Archival Jet Black Ink Pad. I added some colour to the jar that the brushes are sitting in and paint lids with Distress Markers.
After adhering the layers to the card, I added a Paint Brush from the Darkroom Door Artist stamp set (DDRS027) and covered the letters ‘Create Art’ with Enamel Accents – Black.
Keep watching today for 2 more card ideas.

Darkroom Door’s latest release is here!!!!!
Hi Everyone
Darkroom Door’s release has just arrived and we are very quickly unpacking it.
This release includes the Essentials 14 release which has 6 new stamp sets (here’s just a couple), the trees are my favourite stamp set but for some reason, the Carved Houses make me smile.
Lastly there is the new release of Texture Stamps. To be absolutely honest, I wasn’t too sure about these to start with (sorry Rachel), but they have certainly grown on me. Perfect for the centre of a card with a lovely quote in the centre or inside one of the Darkroom Door Frame stamps. These stamps will certainly be making it into my stamping supplies and there are 6 designs to chose from.
All of the stamps are now available on our website and don’t forget, if you would like me to pre-cut your stamps, don’t hesitate to ask.
Happy Stamping

Darkroom Door
Hi Everyone
Darkroom Door’s latest release is due on our doorstep any minute and I thought it was a timely opportunity to tell you about a service that we offer.
Many of our regular class attendees know that I’m more than happy to help them by cutting out their Darkroom Door stamps and at times, have quite a bundle to do. Some people don’t feel confident doing so or have problems with their hands cutting something so thick.
We are now extending this offer to our online friends and if you place an order with us, you have the opportunity to have them pre-cut also.
All you have to do, is add a comment to the order or send us an email asking us to do it. The order may be delayed by a day, so we have time to cut them out, but we will get them to you as soon as possible.
Have a wonderful day and happy stamping

March 2014 Class Kits
Impression Obsession – 1 card – 2 ways
Hi Everyone
I came across this stamp when I was at CHA and couldn’t wait for it to arrive, it’s one of the new releases from Impression Obsession called ‘Lanterns’ and is code L13201.
I decided to make 2 cards with it, showing you 2 different ways of colouring it – so I have a colour version and a black & white version.
I’ll start with the colour version. The card is Bazzill Java and I have layered with Pomegranate and Aloe Vera. The background for the lanterns is Watercolour paper which I have blended Distress Ink Pads – Old Paper and Walnut Stain around the edges.Stamp the Lanterns using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and then colour with Distress Markers Dried Marigold, Festive Berries, Bundled Sage, Gathered Twigs, Pumice Stone and Old Paper. To blend the colours, blend with the lighter colour or with water from an AquaBrush.
Now for the Black and White Version. I kept the same base card of Java and layered with Pomegranate card. I then added a layer of Lily White which I stamped Hero Arts Decorative Bamboo (K4900) using Hero Arts Shadow Ink – Field Greens.
On HP Colour LaserJet paper (200gsm), I stamped the Lanterns using a Memento Tuxedo Jet Black ink pad and blended Distress Ink Pads – Old Paper and Black Soot around the edge.
I coloured the Lanterns with Copic Markers Warms Tones W-0, W-3, W-5 and W-7. This gave the image a vintage look and allowed me to control the variation of shades. When adhering the top layer, I tilted it slightly and trimmed off the edges that over-hanged the card.

Cupcake BFF’s
Hi Everyone
The latest release of Art Impressions stamps are so much fun and this stamp set took my fancy.
Here I have used Cupcake BFF’s (4409) and I coloured her with Copic Markers – E00, E11, R20, E35, Y21, YR23, R81, R83, R85, BG15, BG34 and BG49.
I layered the card with some Kaisercraft papers and the base card is Lily White with the edges covered in Crystal Stickles.
I used the Diemanics Scallop Die cut from Lily White and covered it with Crystal Stickles and ran it vertically down the card.
The hearts are from Penny Black’s new die set – Heart String (51-022) and I also cut it from Lily White and covered it with Crystal Stickles.
I added a Lily White Scallop die which I blended with Distress Ink Pad Squeezed Lemonade and then added the BFF.

Starting with a Bazzill Leapfrog card, I layered with Lily White, Kisses and Sandbox.
On the Kisses card, I stamped the words ‘You make me smile’ from the Hero Arts – Made with Love stamp set (CL491) using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.On some HP Colour LaserJet paper, stamp 3 small Dahlia’s using a Memento ink pad and colour with Copic Markers G21, G24, G28, RV69, R37 and R32.

Friends Always
Hi Everyone
It’s time to dust off some of my favourite Penny Black stamps and give then a new lease on life. This is Penny Black’s – Butterfly Suite stamp which I stamped on HP Colour LaserJet Paper. The music in the background has Distress Ink Pads Faded Jeans and Scattered Straw blended over it. I then stamped it again on the Creampuff card and coloured the leaves and stem with Copic Markers YG63 and YG67.
On another piece of HP Colour LaserJet paper and coloured the butterflies with B32 and V06 on the edge. I started flicking the B32 from the centre of the butterfly and then V06 from the outer edge. This will create a new colour in the centre. I then added some E37 in the centre and after adhering them to the card, applied Glossy Accents to highlight them.
On the last piece of HP Colour LaserJet paper, stamp the Mum’s The Word again and coloured each flower individually. I started with Copic Marker B32 in the centre and then added some B18 to add depth. Around the edges of each flower, I coloured V06. I then mounted this flower and adhered it to the front of the card.
The card is made up of Bazzill Typhoon, Creampuff and Burgundy card. On the last piece of Creampuff, I blended Distress Ink Pad – Wild Honey and then stamped Darkroom Door’s French Script to add texture.
On the lower left, I added a postmark from Hero Arts – Untitled Postmark (AC001) and coloured it with the same Copic Markers.
Lastly and after the card is fully assembled, apply Glossy Accents to the centre of the butterflies and the centre of the flower on the Untitled Postmark and then using Viva Décor Pearl Pen – Gold, apply little dots to the centres of the flowers. It looks gorgeous when this has been done.
Have a great day

You Make The World A Better Place
Hi Everyone
Happy Monday, I have been playing with the Penny Black Dahlia’s stamp set (30-159) and can be used as an ‘any occasions’ card.
The card layers are Bazzill LilyWhite, Leapfrog and Sweetheart card. On the Sweetheart card, I stamped the Hero Arts CG Lattice Background (331065) which I embossed with White embossing powder. In alternating lines, I coloured in the lattice using a Copic RV34.On the HP LaserJet paper, I stamped the My Favorite Things – Vertical Greetings words using an Archival Jet Black in pad, followed by the Dahlia flower.
I trimmed the paper to size then used a Crop-A-Dile to round the corners.
I coloured the Dahlia in using Copic Markers RV69, RV34, R83, G24 and G28 and adhered a second one on top to add dimension.
This card makes a great ‘all occasion’ card.

Wishing You A Very Happy Birthday
Hi Everyone
This Raindrops on Roses release from Hearfelt Creations has been one of my favourites. This card is a really simple, but sometimes simple can be elegant.
Starting with a Bazzill Dotted Swiss Berry card and layered with Dotted Swiss Celtic Green and then HP Colour LaserJet Paper.
Start by stamping the Raindrops on Roses – Birthday background (HCPC3586) and then colour with Copic Markers – YG63 and YG67. With the roses, I coloured with Copic Markers R85 and R83, but didn’t colour the whole flower, I left the edges white..On the ‘Happy Birthday’ banner, I flicked the R83 and R81 Copic Markers around the edges, again leaving the centre white. With the circle, I coloured with Copic R83 and R85. The edges are RV69.
I edged the 4 corners with May Road white organza ribbon with silver trim and then wrapped another layer around the lower part of the card.
I hope you enjoy this card.

Gift Ensemble
Hi Everyone
Ok, yes I love the Darkroom Door – Bright Blossoms vol 2 stamp set and I’m attending therapy. In our Christmas classes last year, we created a Christmas gift box using the Heartfelt Creations ‘Gift Ensemble’ die and here is a Valentine’s version.
I have cut the box from 4 pieces of Bazzill Dotted Swiss – Rope Swing card and layered it with Pinecone.
I stamped the Roses on the 300gsm Watercolour paper using Distress Ink Pad – Fired Brick and blended the colour out with a waterbrush. To make this box, fold back the decorative edges and adhere them together. While still flat, adhere any decorations and then fold in the bottom and adhere together. To secure the top, fold one in after the other.

My Wish For You
Hi EveryoneI’ve had heaps of fun playing with the new Heartfelt Creations – Floral Keys & Locket stamp set and the Magnolia Lost & Found stamp set.
Here’s the first of my play cards. The Floral Keys & Locket stamp set are code HCPC3572 and the Magnolia stamp I have used is – For You Tilda. The background stamp is True Friends (CG420) from Hero Arts.
Ok, so that’s the stamps, now down to business. Starting with a Bazzill Lily White card, I layered with Bazzill Pajama and Pinecone. True Friends was stamped on the Pinecone card with an Archival Jet Black ink pad.The fence in the background is Magnolia’s Heart Fence Doo-Hickey and then I added For You Tilda.
I coloured Tilda with skin with Copic Markers – E00, E11 and R20. Her hair is with E40, E43, E47 and E49. Her overalls are coloured with E40, E43 and E47, the heart with R81, R83 and R85 and lastly the roses with R81, R83, R85, YG63, YG67 and YG03. Super cute.
The ‘My Wish for You was coloured using the same markers but it’s actually 3 layers. Layer 1 is just ‘My Wish For You’, coloured with E40 and E43, the roses and leaves. The second layer is the ornament top and bottom (the centre of the oval has been cut out so the words show from the first layer) and then the 3rd layer is the oval on the top, coloured with Copics E40, E43, E47 and E49 and then covered with Glossy Accents.
Have a wonderful Monday

New Range – Woodware Clear Stamps
1st February
Hi Everyone
It’s now February and I get to share my February Calendar page.
February being the month of Valentine’s Day, I stuck with the theme colour of red and roses.
Many of you know that I LOVE Darkroom Door’s Bright Blossoms Vol 2 stamp set (DDRS108), particularly the rose image. Here I stamped it 3 times on 300gsm Watercolour paper using Distress Ink Pad – Fired Brick and gently blended the colour was a waterbrush.
This is a really simple technique but really effective. It is particularly easy when you do it with Watercolour paper. The thickness is really important, so look for a 300gsm.
The calendar page has a base of Bazzill Dotted Swiss – Pepper, followed by Pinecone and Creampuff. On the Creampuff, I stamped the Darkroom Door Postcards background stamp with Versamark and blended Perfect Pearls – Plum over it. The letters for ‘February’ were cut with my Cricut and the 3 roses adhere the to the top with the middle on mounted up.

Thinking of You
Hi Everyone
I have had some time to play with Penny Black’s Petal Party stamp set (30-113) which I haven’t had a chance to do before.
Here I have used one of the images from the stamp set, but had to give it a little ‘plastic surgery’ first. I wanted the flower to curve around to the left a little and so I trimmed some for the backing from it so I could make the bend.
The main image is stamped on Watercolour paper with Archival Jet Black and coloured with Distress Markers – Seedless Preserves, Forest Moss, Peeled Paint and Ripe Persimmon and blended with a waterbrush.
To add some shadow, I around the lower part of the image with Old Paper and blended out with a waterbrush. I then stamped ‘Thinking Of You’ from the Hero Arts – Made with Love stamp set CL491. To finish the image, I stamped the Darkroom Door French Script with a Distress Ink Pad in Old Paper and then blended around the edges.
The card is Bazzill Pansy and then Creampuff. The green paper is a scrap of Kaisercraft papers and the purple was blended over with Distress Ink Pad – Dusty Concord and then the French Script was stamped over it again.

Greetings from CHA Mega Show 2014
Greetings from Anaheim!!
Phew, it’s Sunday night and we have just finished day 3 at CHA – OMG!!! So many ideas, so many new products, so many stands, – and we’re only 1/2 way through the stands.
Tim Holtz and Ranger have a fantastic display. They are releasing Mini Distress Ink Pads, Mini Ink Blending Tool, longer scissors but my absolute favourite new product is the ‘Distress Marker Spritzer’.
The Distress Marker Spritzer turns your Distress Markers into an Airbrush and has a screw in the top to hold the pen in place. You just bump the ‘bulb’ to press the air through (think of a doctor taking your blood pressure). The reason this is also my favourite product is that you can use it with your Copic Markers as well – goodness, it was interesting watching Tim use a Copic Marker whilst on the Ranger stand.
(Vince stop reading now).
We also have orders in with May Arts, Stampendous, Hero Arts, Petaloo, Stampers Anonymous, Sizzix, Heartfelt Creations, Elizabeth Craft Designs, Impression Obsession and Craft Companion and more to come over the next 2 days.
It’s so exciting being here again and I can’t wait to show you what we have found.
Happy Stamping

Enjoy Today
Hi Everyone
This image just looks so relaxing.
Using Kaisercraft’s Paradisco Collection paper P1380 Sunsets, I used this jetty scene to create this lovely card.
I started with Bazzill Lily White and layered with Typhyoon card followed by the jetty scene.
The words ‘enjoy today’ are from Penny Black’s stamp set ‘Sweet Wishes’ (30-104).The Magnolia girls I used are Bikini Tilda and Hula Hula Tilda which I coloured with Copic Markers – E00, E11, R20, E35, YR23, Y21, G24, G28, R27, R46, E43, E47 and E49.
Have a lovely day and

Happy New Year!!!
Hi Everyone
Welcome to 2014!! I can’t believe how fast 2013 went and I’m sure 2014 will be just as fast.
My friends Cheryl, Linda, Jennifer and I will be completing our Calendar Project again this year where we each decorate 3 months of a calendar and give each other a copy. We rotate who does what months, so in 2013, I had October-December so in 2014 I get January-March.
The calendars are 18x18cm and are a lot of fun to work on as a group (and a little easier than having to make 12 pages).
Here’s my January contribution. I focused on the fact that it’s Summer in Australia and created this little beach scene.
The base card is Bazzill Typhoon followed by Rope Swing and then HP Colour LaserJet Paper where I coloured it with Distress Stains – Tumbled Glass and Scattered Straw.
On the HP Colour LaserJet Paper, I stamped the Magnolia Rubber Stamps ‘Vintage Swedish Coast Cottage’ and coloured with Copic Markers B93, B95, B99, E41, E43, E47, E49, R27, R46, R59.
Now, the little girls – again I have used Magnolia Rubber Stamps and here I have Bikini Tilda and Hula Hula Tilda. I also coloured these girls with Copic Markers E00, E11, R20, E35, YR23, Y21, G24, G28, R27, R46, B93 and B95.
The letters ‘January’ was cut from my Cricut.

London Calling
Hi Everyone
Magnolia Rubber Stamps and Darkroom Door stamps don’t normally go together (apart from word stamps) but this was just tooo easy. Here I have used Darkroom Door’s London Vol 2 (DDRS074) and London Vol 1 (DDRS073) as my background. I stamped the scene (from Vol 2) and coloured it by blending Distress Ink Pads – Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain. As I wanted to colour the bus’ red, I coloured them with Distress Marker – Festive Berries.
The word ‘London’ is from the London Vol 1 stamp set and was stamped using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.
The ‘Vintage Phone Booth’ and ‘Guard of the Castle’ are from Magnolia’s new Little London Collection 2013 release. I stamped the images on HP Colour Laser Jet paper (200gsm).
The ‘Vintage Phone Booth’ was coloured with Copic Markers R02, R05, R27, R59, Y21, YR23 and C3.
‘Guard of the Castle’ was coloured with Copic Markers E00, E11, R20, R27, R59, C3, C5, C7, 100 and YR23 and was them adhered to the card with mounting tape.

Calendar Project – November 2013
It’s time for me to show you my November calendar.
As November is the month of ‘Remembrance Day’ on the 11th, I took my theme from there and used the Penny Black ‘Field of Poppies’ 4308K and stamped it 3 times.
The images were stamped on Bazzill Creampuff using Memento Tuxedo Black and then coloured with Copic Markers R02, R05, R27, R59, G21, G24, G28, Y21, YR23 and E35.
In the centre of my poppies, I added a badge that I purchased last November but removed the back from it.

Bright Blossoms Cards
Hi EveryoneMy ‘Spring Theme’ is continuing with Darkroom Door’s beautiful Bright Blossoms Photochips (I love these images).
I’ll start with the Yellow card. I cut the Bazzill Lily White card to 8cm wide with the fold at the top. I layered them with Bazzill Beetle Black and Sunshine. On the Sunshine Card, I stamped the French Script background stamp using Wild Honey and stamped the String Sentiment stamp ‘Thinking of You’ down the left side.
I layered the flower on Lily White and Beetle Black and them glued it so that the card was it’s normal 10.5cm wide.
I added some Swirl White ribbon and adhered all of the layers together.
My next card starts with a base of Bazzill Palm card, layered with Pomegranate and then some Kissing Booth paper.
On the background of the Palm card, I stamped the French Script Background stamp with Distress Ink Pad – Forest Moss and the words ‘Warmest Wishes’ are from the Bright Blossom Vol 1 stamp set.
My last card starts with a base of Bazzill Lily White followed by Pansy and Wisteria. The paper is from Kaisercraft and I stamped ‘Thank You’ from the String Sentiments stamp set across the middle.
Have a lovely day, today we are setting up at the Brisbane Craft Show which opens tomorrow. Web orders will be accepted this week, but we won’t be able to post them until next Monday.

2013 Calendar Project – October
Hi Everyone
Happy October and Summer has certainly hit Brisbane.
Here is my first calendar page for this year. I started with a Bazzill Creampuff background, layered with Beetle Black and then lastly a layer of HP Colour LaserJet paper.
On the HP Colour LaserJet paper, I blended Peeled Paint and Faded Jeans Distress Ink pads. I then stamped the Hero Arts Lotus Background with Versamark and then dusted with Perfect Pearls – Pewter.
I cut the letters for OCTOBER and covered with Distress Stain – Pewter.
The butterflies are from Darkroom Door Butterflies stamp set with Archival Jet Black and coloured with Distress Markers – Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey. After I adhered them to the page, I applied some Chocolate Pearl Pen down the centre of the body.

Kaisercraft Butterfly Tower
Hi Everyone
I’ve continued to play with some of the new Kaisercraft range and here’s my Tower Storage unit.
The unit, of course, is called Tower Storage and is code SB2174. The papers are from the Enchanted Garden range.
I covered the unit and trays with Black Kaisercraft paint.
On the sides, using the Charm paper (P1219), I created a top and bottom section 7cm deep and then edged it with a thin strip of Bazzill Beetle Black. I then adhered the sheet of the Glitter Specialty Paper – Fly PS292 (glitter butterfly paper) and sanded the edges back to the timber.
On the top, I used the Charm paper again and sanded back.
On the drawers, before assembling them, I adhered a piece of the ‘Fly’ paper and cut around the half circle. I then assembled the boxes by gluing up the sides and holding them until they dry…. due to the number of drawers, find a good TV show to watch before starting this step.
Assemble the Tower and then add a little black around the edges – just a tip as it removes any white edges when you sanded back the edges and insert the drawers.
I hope you enjoy making this and if you would like the supplies, drop by our website and you can buy the timber and paper kit under Card Kits. https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/?wpsc_product_category=card-kits

All Year Long
Hi Everyone
Here’s another card that I created from Magnolia’s Sea Breeze Collection 2013.
This is Bikini Tilda who I have mounted on some Magnolia Memory Shells (from a previous release). I coloured Tilda with Copic Markers – E00, E11, R20, E33, Y21, Y17, R22, R46, R59.
The background paper is HP Colour Laser Jet paper in 200gsm and I applied a Distress Stains Tumbled Glass to the top and then Wild Honey and Scattered Straw to the lower half.
Once dry, I then stamped Magnolia’s Vintage Swedish Coast Cottage using a Memento Ink Pad and coloured them with Copic Markers B93, B95, B97, B99, R22, R46, R59. The roof and doors was coloured using E41, E43, E47 and E59.The words are from Hero Arts – Yummy Treats (CL489) stamp set.
Ahhhh – roll on Summer.

Best Wishes
Hi Everyone
I fell in love with Magnolia’s new ‘Summer Flower’ stamp when I first saw it on their website and was really excited when the latest release arrived.
I created this first card using Bazzill Lily White and Leapfrog and used some pink Kaisercraft paper (sorry, I don’t have the code).
I stamped the background Lily White card with Darkroom Doors – Postcards Background stamp using a Distress Ink Pad – Bundled Sage.
I stamped 3 Summer Flowers using a Memento Ink Pad and coloured them with Copic Markers – Y11, YR04, G29, G24 and G21. I then cut out the flowers with a slight halo around the outline.
After preparing the card, as shown, I then applied glue to the stems of the flowers and then mounted the flowers. These are one piece, I just put mounting tape on the back of the flowers.
Now – the words. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Darkroom Door new stamp set ‘Simple Sayings’. Here I have used the ‘Best Wishes’ words.
Not only does this stamp set have a great range of words and font – each word comes in 2 sizes – soooo, I then created a gift card (10x20cm) using the same flower and background but used the smaller size ‘Best Wishes’.
Until next time…Happy Stamping

Cheryl used the wonderful Hero Arts Garden Bouquet stamp set to create this amazing page.
With a base of black card, Cheryl added a layer of white card and stamped the French words from the Stampers Anonymous Papillion (CMS106) stamp set using Versamark and dusted it with Perfect Pearls Sunflower powder.
The coloured cards are coloured with Distress Ink Pads – Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade. Cheryl then stamped the French words with Versamark and dusted it with Perfect Pearls Sunflower powder. Cheryl then stamped the Garden Bouquet on the 3 pieces of card using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

French Country
Hi EveryoneI love the new Graphic 45 – French Country papers and when I combined it with the Kaisercraft Stationery Organiser I created this great organiser.
I started by painting the Stationery Organiser with Kaisercraft Black paint. I covered the back with the Grandeur paper, sides with French Country paper and then the inside with Grandeur and Promenade papers.
The two front dividers were made using the A La Carte papers which is a page with 6 labels on it and is the perfect width for these dividers. I selected the Sunflowers and Bonne Chance pieces. The drawer at the bottom is painted in Kaisercraft Black paint (inside and out) and then I cut a piece from the French Country paper.
The Graphic 45 papers are $1.30 each and are available instore and will be on our website shortly.

Butterfly Post Collage Stamp – Card 2
Hi Everyone
I’m back with my second Butterfly Post Collage Stamp.
I have made a Pansy square card (10.5×10.5cm) and stamped the Happy Birthday Word Block stamp all over it.
I layered the card then with Parakeet and Lily White card (edges distressed).
I stamped two sets of Butterfly Post Collage Stamps on the Lily White card.
On one set, I coloured the squares with Distress Markers – Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans, Mustard Seed and Dusty Concord.
I then took the second image and didn’t colour in the butterflies. I then cut out the butterflies and adhered them to the squares.
I used 4 squares in the background and then mounted another image on top. Lastly I applied some Viva Décor – Black Pearl Pen to the bodies of the butterflies, just to finish them off.

Butterfly Post Collage Stamp – Card 1
Hi Everyone
Wow, what a wonderful weekend full of sun and great temperatures in Brisbane, more of that please.
I was reading the Darkroom Door blog and got all inspired by a post they had with the Butterfly Post Collage Stamp and wanted to tweak it a little.
I started by stamping the Butterfly Post on two pieces of Bazzill Lily White card.
I stamped the image with Archival Jet Black and coloured the butterflies and squares with Distress Markers – Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade.
On the first stamped piece, I cut out the squares and adhered them to another piece of Lily White card and then with the other stamped image, I cut out the butterflies and adhered them to the card only around the body of the butterflies so I could lift up the wings.
I then adhered the card onto Bazzill Parakeet card and the base card is Admiral with I had stamped the Happy Birthday Word Block stamp over.

Our Calender Project continues this month with Cheryl’s July page.
Using the Darkroom Door Seashells Stamp Set (DDRS055) and a mix of brown ink pads, Cheryl stamped the seashells out, cut them out and created this mix.
Layered on pearlescent card and dark brown card, this is a lovely card which could be made into a card.

New Magnolia Release – Special Moments Collection 2013
Hi Everyone
The latest release of Magnolia’s arrived on Friday and I have been busy colouring the tags to put with our display.
Here’s a snapshot of some of the images.
Time Travellers
Hi EveryonePhew, we are finally unpacked from the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo and life is getting back to normal. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and welcome to our new friends on Facebook.
It’s time for the creative juices to start flowing and I started to play with the Stampers Anonymous ‘Time Travellers’ (CMS157) stamp set.
The large images are all masked, so on HP Colour LaserJet paper (200gsm), I started with the Gent at the front right and stamped him with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad. I them made a mask on a Post-It note and laid it over him. I then stamped the other Gent to the left, made another mask and then stamped the Cogs in the background. All of these images were stamped with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.
I then started colouring with Copic Markers E00, E11, E41, E43, E47, E49, 100, W3, W5 and W7. I blended around the edges with Distress Ink Pads Brushed Corduroy and Walnut Stain.
I stamped the numbers from a Stampers Anonymous word set and then the Lock and Key (Stampers Anonymous set Mini Blueprints 3 – CMS150) were stamped on some scraps of paper and coloured with the Copic Markers E41, E43, E47, E49, then cut out and adhered to the front of the card.
I layered the card on Beetle Black, Java and Dotted Swiss – Rope Swing.
A great ‘Gent’s card.

Phew, where has this week gone…..but it’s nearly time for the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo.
Our orders have arrived, are priced and currently sitting in a very large Budget van ready to transport us into the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo tomorrow morning for set up.
The show opens at 9am on Saturday 8th June at the Brisbane Convention Centre, South Brisbane and promises to be a fantastic show. This year we are sponsoring one of the classrooms and the incredibly talented Rachel Greig from Darkroom Door will be teaching 3 classes a day (I hope she doesn’t lose her voice) over the 3 days. We have received our orders of Viva Décor 3D paint and Ranger’s Dylusions sprays which Rachel will be using in the class together with the fantastic new range of Darkroom Door Collage, Background and Frame stamps. Darkroom Door’s classes at the show are nearing capacity, one of the classes is sold out but there are still some spaces in the other classes. I’m rather jealous that I don’t get to do the classes, so please come past and show me what you make.

Heartfelt Creation – Roses
Hi Everyone
More playing with the Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret Frame Precut Set (HCPC3522) this weekend where I went a little insane (more about that shortly).
I stamped the image on HP Colour LaserJet paper (200gsm) with Memento Tuxedo Jet Black and coloured with Copic Markers E43, E47, E49, YG63 and YG67.
I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with the background, colour it? distress it? no, I had to make it hard for myself and hand cut background away from the vine and leaves…. crazy I know!!!
I know that there is a die that does this, but I wanted to get a little closer and I love seeing the texture from the Bazzill Creampuff behind it.
The words in the frame are from Darkroom Door Full Bloom Vol 2 (DDRS004) and were stamped on Bazzill Mauve.
Anyone who attended our classes this month, would be familiar with the Roses from Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret stamp set. Stamped with Archival Coffee and coloured with Distress Ink Pad – Victorian Velvet.

The leaves were coloured with Copic pens YG63 and YG67 and lastly the vases with Copic Pens E40, E43 and E47.
I blended Distress Ink Pad Tea Dye around the edges.
I layered the card on Bazzill Pinecone, Cream Puff and Dotted Swiss Romantic Mauve. I added Kaisercraft Rhinestone strips to accent the card.

It’s Your Day To Celebrate
Dahlias are lovely flowers and this card has been made with Penny Black’s Dahlia’s unmounted stamp set (30-159).
I stamped the two Dahlia images using Memento Tuexdo Ink Pad and then coloured it with Copic pens RV29, RV21, RV14, YG67, YG63 and YG11.
When colouring the petals of the flowers, colour the darker pen colours to the centre of the petals and lighter colours to the outer tips and then repeat the same with the leaves.
I used Bazzill Fawn and Lily white card. The blue paper is white paper covered with Peacock Feathers Distress Stain and then stamped with Hero Arts Looped Flower CG504 with Distress Ink Pad Salty Ocean.
The words ‘It’s Your Day To Celebrate’ is from Hero Arts Many Birthday Messages (CL611) stamp set.

Field of Poppies
Hi Everyone
This stamp is Penny Black’s Field of Poppies 4308K and when stamped in a line, form a lovely card.
I have used Bazzill Pomegranate, Sunbeam, Pear and Creampuff card to form the base. The Poppies were stamped and coloured on the Creampuff card.
I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and heat set it a little so that the ink was fully dry in the textured parts of the card.
I coloured the images with Copic pens R02, R05, R27, R59, G21, G24, G28, YR23, YR31, YR68.
I then wrapped black ribbon around the layers of Creampuff, Pear and Sunbeam and adhered it to the Pomegranate card.
I stamped the words from Stamp It on circles cut from Dienamics Mini Doily Circles.

G’Day from Sydney
G’Day Everyone

To colour the image, I stamped two images on HP Colour LaserJet paper (200gsm from Officeworks) an using Archival Jet Black ink pad.
On the first image, I coloured the background with Tumbled Glass Distress Stain. Using Distress Markers – Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Tumbled Glass I coloured the Harbour waters and then using Pumice Stone and Forest Moss, I coloured the city landscape. On the second image, I coloured the bridge with Pumice Stone and then cut out the bridge and mounted it on the other image.
I layered the card on Bazzill Creampuff, Admiral and Dotted Swiss Rope Swing card.
I stamped the words G’day from Sydney!’ using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and then wrapped it around the top right of the card.

May 2013 Calendar Project
Hi Everyone
Our calendar project continues this month with Linda’s May page.
Linda’s new favourite stamp pad is Hero Arts Bubblegum dye ink pad and created this page using this stamp pad.
Using Penny Black’s Glory of Modesty (40-206), Linda stamped the left side with the Bubblegum ink pad.
On the right side, Linda stamped Glory of Modesty with Versamark on white paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Linda then coloured the flowers by blending the Bubblegum ink over the stamped image.
The flower in the centre is Hero Arts Three Dotted Flowers (CG291) which was stamped on white card with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. Linda then coloured the flowers with the Bubblegum ink pad and Distress ink pads for the leaves.

April 2013 Class Kit
Recipe – Red Velvet Cupcakes
Hi Everyone
Yesterday I spent a wonderful day with the Cameo Papercrafts Club at Lawnton where I demo’d 3 Darkroom Door cards using the Bright Blossoms stamp sets.
I bought with me my ‘world famous’ (ok, maybe not world famous, but many of you who have been to the weekend classes have tasted them) Red Velvet Cupcakes and I have been asked for the recipe many times.
Credit must be paid to www.taste.com.au where I found the recipe and it is a very easy recipe… pull out your mixing bowl and here goes.Red Velvet Cupcakes
350g (2 1/3 cups) Plain Flour
2 Tab Cocoa powder
1 tea Bicarbonate of Soda
1 tea Baking Powder
315g (1 1/2 cups) Caster Sugar
250ml (1 cup) Buttermilk
185ml (3/4 cup) Vegetable Oil
2 Eggs
3 tea Red Food Colouring
2 tea White Vinegar
250g packet Cream Cheese (at room temperature)
100g butter (at room temperature)
195g (1 1/4 cups) Pure Icing Sugar
1 tea Vanilla Extract
Sprinkles
Preheat your oven to 180’C. Line muffin pans with paper cases.
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder into a large bowl. Sift in the sugar.
In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk, oil, eggs, food colouring and vinegar until just combined.
In the dry ingredients bowl, make a well in the centre and add the buttermilk mixture and stir until just combined.
Divide the mixture among the prepared pans and bake for 20-25minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centres comes out clean. Transfer the cupcakes to a wire rack to cool completely.
Cream Cheese Frosting
Using a electric beater, beat the cream cheese, butter, icing sugar and vanilla in a bowl until smooth.
Pipe the frosting over the cupcakes and top with the sprinkles.

Baked with Love
Hi Friends
Magnolia’s last release included two stamps that work perfectly together ‘Tilda with Love Cake’ and ‘Baked with Love’.
I created 2 cards, a normal A5 size card and a square card that is 10x10cm.
The A5 card
On HP Colour Laser Paper (200gsm), I cut out a circle using a Nestabilities die and then blended Scattered Straw over it, before I removed the die. I then stamped the ‘Baked With Love’ with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.
Colour with Copic Pens E31, E35, E37, R81, R83, R85, RV29, B00, B02 and B05. Cut a scallop circle from Rip Tide Dotted Swiss card and adhere.
Stamp Tilda on the HP Colour Laser paper using a Tuxedo Jet Black ink pad and colour with Copic pens E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, R81, R83, R85, C0, C3 and C5.
Layer up and stamp ‘Happy Birthday’ from Darkroom Door’s All Occasions stamp set.
The Gift Card
Stamp ‘Baked with Love’ on the HP Colour Laser paper and cut out. Colour with Copic pens E31, E35, E37, R81, R85, RV29, C0, C3 and C5.
Stamp the words from Hero Arts stamp set CL611 Many Birthday Messages. Pop some clear Stickles on the top cupcakes and adhere the card as shown.

Bright Blossoms Photochips
I was inspired by a card I saw on Darkroom Door’s website showing the Bright Blossoms Photochips and have created my own.
Starting with a Bazzill Walnut card and then stamped the French Script background using an Archival Coffee ink pad.
Using the new Darkroom Door Lace stamp set (DDRS112), I stamped one of the pieces with Versamark and them embossed it with Seafoam White embossing powder.
By using the Seafoam White embossing powder, the lace looks like real lace.
The words are from the Darkroom Door Bright Blossoms vol 2 (DDRS108), stamped with Versamark and embossed with Seafoam White embossing powder.

Thank You Melbourne
Hi Everyone
We’re back from our trip to Melbourne where we exhibited at the first ever Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo outside of Brisbane.
The show started on Friday and finished on Sunday and ‘what fun we had’. During the days we met lots of people and demo’d lots of products and then at night off to Haighs Chocolate and Ganache Chocolate for some serious hits of chocolate.
We were also fortunate to have the help of Darkroom Door who sent their latest release to us in Melbourne so that we had them there to sell. The only problem I have now is that I forgot to set some aside for myself and they are on the pallets, currently on route home to Brisbane — I’ll just have to wait.
Speaking of the pallets, as they are currently heading home to Brisbane, we are rather low on stock in the shop so web orders will be held until we have unpacked. We hope to have the pallets arrive by the end of this week and will unpack over the weekend.
Also a reminder that there are no classes this weekend.
Lastly, I want to thank Cheryl for her fantastic demoing over the weekend. Cheryl demo’d for the 3 days straight and provided our visitors with ideas for their next project. Thank you for giving up your weekend, we really appreciate it.
I hope to see you all in Brisbane from the 8th – 10th June at the Brisbane Convention Centre, South Bank.

‘Sew’ Much Fun
Hi Everyone
With our stock on it’s way to Melbourne, this weekend I had a play in my stamping room and created lots of cards using new stamps that I picked up at CHA.
The latest release from Stampers Anonymous (Tim Holtz) arrived last week and was quickly added to the pallets going to Melbourne.
This card was made using the CMS147 Sewing Blueprint stamp set and I have used all 4 images on the one card.

Hi Everyone
In December 2010, our class included a little gift box that could be used for Rum Balls and Christmas presents.
I have been playing of this year’s Christmas break and created a Valentine box and Easter box – but you’ll have to wait to see the Easter box.
Here’s my Valentines box, on the outside.
Inside the box, you can put anything you like, having just been in the US, I picked up a pack of Hershey’s Kisses for this box.

Valentine’s tag-ish (part 1)
Hi Everyone
Here’s my first tag-ish – 2 Hedgehogs with a heart jigsaw.
The reason I call it a tag-ish is that I turned it into a Easel card.
On the last tag (which will go into the centre), score a line across the top, around 1cm from the top and make a valley fold. Now fold the whole tag in half, a mountain fold, texture side up.
Hi Everyone
I loved this Magnolia stamp ‘Charming Edwin’ and created this card especially for Valentine’s Day.
I have used Kaisercraft papers, Nestabilities Heart and Scallop Heart and the words are from Hero Arts CL491 ‘Made With Love’ stamp set.
The Copic Markers used were E00, E11, R20, E43, E47, E49, E31, E35, E37, R81, R83, R85, R05, R29, R59, G24, G28, C0, C3, C5, C7, 100. I also accented Edwin’s shoes by applying Glossy Accents.

CHA Catalogues
Hi Everyone
I collected sooo many catalogues at CHA that I had to post them home and on Friday, they finally arrived.
Yesterday I flicked through them with Robyn and showed her some of the items I’ve ordered.
We thought, that if you live close by, you might also like to have a look through.
If you are interested, give Robyn a call and organise a time to come over. We will take pre-orders on anything in the catalogues and set them aside for you when they arrive.

CHA Wrap up
Hi Everyone
I arrived back in Australia on Tuesday after a quick trip to the US for Winter CHA, Disneyland visit and Las Vegas.
It was my first trip to CHA and I was blown away – not only by what I saw but also the size of the show.
Tim Holtz was there (of course) and released some new stamp sets, Sizzix dies and Distress Paints. If you have a look around Youtube, you’ll find some videos of the Distress Paints and I have to say, I’ll be getting the full set for myself when they arrive.
Spellbinders had a large display featuring their new ‘Media Mixage’ range which is the new evolution of Spellbinders dies and embossing folders.
I also bumped into the lovely Rachel Greig from Darkroom Door and caught up with her – please don’t send me emails or phone me about the next cruise, I know nothing!!!
There were lots of smaller companies to see and I have placed some orders which will be arriving in the coming weeks (how exciting, it will be like Christmas).
I know a lot of your love Penny Black and they released their new catalogue at CHA.
http://pennyblackinc.com/catalogs/2013_Penny_Black_spring.pdf
I have a rather large order coming, so if there is anything you would like set aside, please drop us an email. I expect delivery of this late next week and will have them on our website then.
Have a wonderful Australia Day weekend and hope to see you all soon.

Hi Everyone
Start by stamping on the inside of your card and colour.
Place a circle Nestabilities over the image, with masking tape sticky side up and close the card. When you open it again, the Nestabilities will be attached to the front of the card. Run through a Cuttlebug or Big Shot and the circle will be cut for the front of the card.
Decorate the outside of the card with card and ribbon. Compliment the circle on the front of the card by cutting out a My Favorite Things – Mini Doily Circle from co-ordinating card.
Thanks Cheryl for sharing.

Penny Black …..To You
Hi Everyone
I have had the ‘To You’ unmounted stamp set from Penny Black in my collection for a while now, but just haven’t had a change to play with it.
I have coloured the large flower from this set using Copic Pens RV69, RV29, RV14 and R81 with the centre coloured in YR07 and Y06. The base of the flower is adhered to the circle and the centre of the flower has been mounted up with mounting tape.
The words stamped in the lower left corner are from Stamp It’s unmounted stamp set siset031 stamped in Archival Jet Black on the Lily White Bazzill card.
The card layers include Bazzill’s Brandywine (you could also use Sweetheart if this isn’t available) and Leapfrog.

Quick and easy cards are essential in anyone’s collection, but sometimes having some male cards (yes, the dreaded male cards) can sometimes be a problem.
Here I have created a gift card which could be given to a male or female using Darkroom Doors Seaside Photochips and Montage along with the Art De Fleur wordstrips.
The base card – Sandbox is 10.5×10.5cm and layered up with Neptune and Lily White Bazzill. I have added a triangle of netural corrugated card in the top left corner.
This card is quick and easy and you can make a similar selection with other 5 Photochips in the range.

Tried, Tested Tim’s Tip
Hi Everyone
On Friday, I had a play date with my friends Cheryl and Linda and the topic of stamping on polymer came up and how certain inks create a blotchy stamped image (eg Memento) but when colouring with Copics, it’s the best ink. See the left stamped robot.
We have been following Tim Holtz’s Creative Chemistry 101 (sorry to say that it has just finished) and Linda tested the following:
Firstly, Linda inked the stamp with Archival Jet Black and allowed it to dry. Next, ink the stamp with the ink you want to use – Memento, Distress, etc. You will get a much clearer image. See the robot on the right.
This technique is now TRIED, TESTED and TICKED!! Thanks Tim.
Happy Stamping
Michelle
PS. Linda now refers to herself as Dr Linda Wait MBBS, FRACGP and SATTT Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners and Self Appointed Timmy Technique Tester.
Kaisercraft – Memo Board
Hi Everyone
On Saturday’s Kaisercraft Play Date, I had lots of fun and made two projects. Here’s my second project – the Kaisercraft Memo Board.
I started by painted the timber in Metallic Gold, then covered it with Basic Grey’s ‘Pucker Up’ paper from the Kissing Booth range.
After sanding off the edges (and all the swirls) I adhered it together and added Romance card behind the Memo pad.
Add the hooks, 3 Mulberry flowers and rhinestone silver.
Kaisercraft Play Date – My First Project
We definately had fun on Saturday during our Kaisercraft Play Date. We started at 9am with Tara being the last to leave around 4pm meant that there were lots of projects being completed.
Here’s my first project – the Kaisercraft Desk Caddy.
I painted the box using dark brown paint (a mix of Burnt Umber and a little Black) and used the Basic Grey – Kissing Booth range of papers to cover the box.
After sanding off the edges and assembling the caddy, I attached flages from My Favorite Things – Dienamics, ribbon, rhinesones and Creampuff card around the top. I added flourishes from Sizzix and lastly the heart from Sizzix Heart Wings cut from chipboard, coloured with brown paint and then Glossy Accents.

Hi Everyone
Tonight I have been playing with the Penny Black unmounted set called ‘Big Wish’
There are 3 lovely ladies in the set along with extras such as a cat, cupcake, butterfly and words.
Here’s one of the lovely little ladies ready to blow out her cake candles.
I have started with a Bazzill Bling ‘Feather Boa’ card and have layered it up using Lily White and some decorative paper. There is a thin blue line in the paper, so I have used this when layering up Bazzill ‘Swimming Pool’ card and then co-ordinated the Copics when colouring her.

Viva Inka Gold
Hi Everyone
Our latest shipment of Inka Gold has arrived….what’s Inka Gold you ask??? Here’s what Viva say:
“Viva Decor’s Inka Gold is a revolutionary product that produces an amazing metallic finish without any toxic chemicals. With beeswax as one of the main ingredients, Inka Gold is safe and easy to use in all crafting and home decor projects. Just rub it on and polish! Inka Gold comes in 20 brilliant high opacity colors. One jar of Inka Gold can cover up to 80 square feet. Excellent for refinishing or accenting furniture. Also great for paper mache boxes, chipboards, paper crafting and much more.”
To me, Inka Gold is a bit like ‘Rub n Buff’ that we used back in the 90’s. You can apply it using a paint brush, but my preferred method is via Cut n Dry foam. Dip your foam in the Inka Gold and rub (and buff) it onto cardstock, timber or anything you are applying it to.
There are 17 colours and the consistancy of Inka Gold is a thick paste and a small amount goes a long way. The pots are 50gms and are $9.30 each

Red, Red Roses
Hi Everyone
I hope everyone had a fantastic week and is ready for an even better weekend. This weekend we have back-to-back classes so I’ll have my hands full.
Seeing this week was Valentines Day, I thought I would share this card with you. It isn’t necessarily a Valentines card, it could be a birthday, Mother’s Day or just a general card.
This card was inspired by a card Jenny Webster made while on the stamping cruise, so thanks Jenny for the inspiration.
This card was made using the Darkroom Door Roses photostamp and was stamped onto Yes paper using an Archival Jet Black ink pad. I have used a white wax crayon to highlight areas of the roses and then using Distress Inks and a blending tool, coloured the whole image with Victorian Velvet and then around the edges with Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany and lastly Walnut Stain.
After you have finished colouring the paper, use a paper towel to buff the wax crayon areas to remove any excess ink.
The words are from a Hero Arts word set and the flowers are from Mulberry Street Roses.

Darkroom Door – Country Cottage
Hi Everyone
The unpacking is slowly getting done from the Darkroom Door Stamp Cruise. Being back at work is a bit of a shock to the system, but I have some photos around my desk to remind me where I was just last week.
Here’s one of my creations from the cruise – using the Darkroom Door Country Cottage Photostamp.
Here I have stamped the Country Cottage using Archival Jet Black. I have blended Distress Ink pads – Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain.
I like to make the tree pop-up from this card so I have drawn over the tree with Adirondack Acrylics Espresso and Mushroom and allowed to dry.
I have layered the card up and on the Fawn card stamped the Postcards background stamp and edged in Distress Ink pad Walnut Stain.

Darkroom Door Stamping Cruise 2012 – The Review
Hi Everyone
We’ll I’m back from the South Pacific, a little weary and still wish I was on holidays but I guess I have to go back to work tomorrow (gotta earn money for the next cruise).
The cruise was hosted by Rachel and Stewart from Darkroom Door who ran some of the best classes I have ever attended. Here’s a quick look at what we made and I’ll have them on display in the shop.
During the cruise we visited the Isle of Pines, Suva and Denaru in Fiji, Vila Vanatu, Lifou Loyalty Islands and sailed out of Sydney so we had beautiful harbour views. We were very lucky with the weather, if we were two days earlier we would have had wet weather in each location or two days later would have meant we had 7-8m swells (not good for sea sickness).
THANK YOU Rachel and Stewart for organising this cruise. I will definately be on the new cruise, my pick is Hawaii!!!

Calender Project – February
Our Stamping Cruise is on it’s final day, I can’t believe the 12 days have gone so fast. I have heaps to share over the coming weeks and will also be organising some new classes from what I have designed and learnt in the classes.
2012 Stamp Cruise – 3 sleeps to go
Hi Everyone
I wanted to make something special to store my pens, scissors, etc in while I was on the Stamp Cruise, so I jazzed up a Kaisercraft Pencil Caddy with the Darkroom Door Garden Inchies.
I have painted the caddy with Kaisercraft Olive paint and layered up using Pinecone and Creampuff card. I have stamped the Garden Inchies on Yes Paper and coloured them using Copic pens (E31, E35, E37, G21, G24, G28, YR23 and Y21). Each image is two layers glued on top of each other, to add dimension and then once they are adhered to the Creampuff card I covered them with Glossy Accents.
Allow each side to dry before you turn to the next side so that the Glossy Accents dries evenly.
2012 Stamp Cruise – 7 sleeps to go
Hi Everyone
I can’t believe it but the stamp cruise that I booked back in June last year is now only 7 sleeps away – I am sooo excited.
I have been assembling my supplies for a couple of weeks now and the dreaded task of packing it has begun – how am I going to fit it all in?????
During the cruise, we will be exchanging ATC’s. The theme is ‘About You’ and as many of you know – I love bears. With 50 ATC’s to make, it took me a while to stamp, colour and assemble the ATC’s, but at least I’ll know I’m not the only one with so many to do.
In my ATC’s I’ve only used Darkroom Door stamps. I’ve used the bear from the ‘Hello Baby Vol 1’ set and coloured her (I think she’s a girl) with Copic pens E31, E35, E37, R85 and R59. I have stamped the background using the Plaid background stamp, stamped in Versamark and them using a blending tool applied Distress Ink – Victorian Velvet on top. I have added my words from the String Sentiments set, trimmed with ribbon and a heart brad and here they are.

Calender Project – January
Hi Everyone
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend, I personally will be heading back to work tomorrow (already???). I had a quiet new years and got hit by some creative energy around 10pm so you’ll see the outcome of this over the next couple of days.
Each year my friends Cheryl, Jennifer, Linda and myself make a calendar and we each have 3 months of the year to do. This year, we are using the Kaisercraft Calendar timber product and decorating the pages.
Anyone who comes into the studio see the pages, but for those people who only get to see us via cyber land or at shows, I thought you might like to see them here so each month.
This month – obviously is January and was created by Linda. Linda’s theme is summer and of course ice cream comes to mind. Linda created the ice cream using the My Favorite Things Dienamic – Cloud set, a triangle of card scored to look like a waffle and a Kaisercraft Sparklet to top.

Little Elf Finn
Hi Everyone
Here’s the last of the Penny Black elf’s ‘Little Elf Finn’ (40-088).
I have continued with the same colours as I have used in the past 2 cards so that they form part of a set.
I thought I would touch on the colouring of the bauble that Finn is swinging on.
Start by colouring the full bauble using the Y00 pen and in doing thing you have created a base for the rest of the colours to be applied to. Now look for where the shadows will be on the bauble, I have applied the Y28 pen along Finn’s left, around the right side and bottom of the bauble. Now blend further in with the YR23 and Y21 leaving on area without colour so that it is where the light on the bauble will hit. Once you are happy with the rest of the bauble, colour the lightest area with the Y00 pen again so that it blends with the Y21 Copic pen.
Add some glitter to Finn’s hat and trim and edge with Viva Glitter Liner – Peridot.

The card is a Lily White card, the border is Phoenix from the Dotted Swiss range and the Leapfrog in the centre. I edged the Leapfrog card with Viva Glitter Pen – Peridot.
I applied a small amount of glitter to Mim’s hat and dress by smudging it over the area with my finger.
The words are from a Hero Arts unmounted set.

Snowflake & Holly
Hi Everyone
I was playing around with the Penny Black stamp ‘Snowflake & Holly’ 4206L for our classes this month (sorry, I just gave away one of the stamps we are using) and wanted to make a blue version of this card.
The card is a Lily White card mounted on Leapfrog and Admiral. I created the background on Yes Paper by blending Distress Ink Pads – Broken China, Faded Jeans and edged with Chipped Sapphire. I then used my Mini Mister and squirted the water into my fingers and then dropped the water onto the Distress Ink to create droplets.
To add another shimmer to the design, I sprayed Perfect Pearls Mists over the top.
Once these are all dry, I stamped my the Snowflake and Holly one the Yes paper and coloured it with Copic Pens G21, YG67, E50, E35, E37, B24 and B39. After securing some brads into position and Glossy Accents onthe Snowflake, my card is finished.

Tahlia’s 6th Birthday Party
Hi Everyone
Thanks to everyone who visited us at the Brisbane Craft Show, we had a fantastic time and have booked again for next year.
The unpacking of the studio took some time together with the shock of losing our ‘little puppy’ Coco who had a cyst around her stomach on Tuesday.
All the sadness was set aside on Saturday for my niece, Tahlia’s 6th Birthday Party at the studio. This was the first time we have hosted a craft birthday party and coming up with a project for 4-6 year olds was a little hard but I think they enjoyed it.
We used the Pencil Caddy from Kaisercraft, painted it with Dusty Pink or Mauve paint and decorated with matching papers. I pre-coloured the Hero Arts ‘Girl Holding Flowers’ and the little ladies coloured the cupcakes.
There was much excitment when the girls returned from cutting the cake to find the pencil caddies full of lollies and pencils.

Tulips Galore
Hi Everyone
With spring just around the corner, I thought of this Tulip card.
I have used the Tilda with Armful of Tulips and Tulip Wheelburrow inside. The words are part of Stamp It’s unmounted set.
To make the card, take a A5 card, folded along the short end. Trim the front of the card so that it’s 10cm and then fold at 5cm.
I’ve used Copic Pens – E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, G21, G24, G28, RV10, R85 and RV29.

2011 Hero Arts Release
Product Review – Enamel Accents
This month I have had a play with Inkssentials Enamel Accents.
Enamel Accents is a pack of two colours – Black and White. This product is different to other ‘accent’ products like Adirondack Acrylics or Pearl Accents as these are not pearlescent, just glossy.
The white is perfect for accenting dark coloured card like the black flower on the packaging.
The black is being used in this month’s class kit but I can’t wait to play with the Hero Arts Asian Girls stamps and gloss their hair.

Savannah’s Birthday Card
Today my beautiful niece Tahlia was attending a 5th birthday party for her friend Savannah.
I made this card using with Sweet Magnolia, Decorative Swirls from Sizzix and the Savannah letters are from Cuttlebug’s Alphabet set ‘Olivia’.
I’m told Savannah has dark brown hair, so I coloured her hair with E35 and E37. Her skin was coloured with E00, E11 and R20. I coloured her dress, pini and shoes with Y11, Y15, RV10, RV34, YG06, YG67. Of course, Crystal Stickles was added to accent Sweet Tilda’s shoes and pini.
I hope Savannah had a great birthday (and loved the card).

A La Modes – Cheers
I love the new A La Modes stamps from My Favorite Things, Cheers in particular.
Here I have stamped the girl on Yes paper and coloured using Copic Pens – E00, E31 and E35.
The dress was coloured using Copic RV10 and the covered with Stickles Cotton Candy.
The Champagne glass was coloured using Cotton Candy and then the top of the glass with Glossy Accents.
I accented the card with stars in Beetle Black, Ice Gold and Posie Pink. The pink star at the bottom is also covered with Cotton Candy.
Kaisercraft Cupcakes
My second card was coloured with Kaisercraft Hot Pink paint and backed with Parakeet and Posie Pink card.
The circles have been filled with Stickles – Cotton Candy.
The card has been layered on Lily White, Petunia and Parakeet card and Kaisercraft Strawberry Sundae from the Candy Lane paper release.
A white double bow was added to finish the cupcake.
Kaisercraft Cupcakes
I have had a play this week with the Timber Cupcakes from Kaisercraft.
With this first card, I coloured the cupcake with Adirondack Dabber – Sail Boat Blue and once dried I inked it with Versamark and clear embossed it. It makes it really shine.
Layered up with Blue Jean, Parakeet, Lily White (embossed with Swiss Dot embossing powder) and Sunbean Card.
The birthday message is from Hero Arts.
Card Box
After making my Recipe Box with Magnolia images, I had to create a Card Box.
Here I have used the images –
Love Sealing Tilda
Unwrapped Tilda
Tilda Writing Diary
Tilda with Christmas Letters
Wildma with Rose
Secret Tilda
Basket with Presents
Wood Pallet
Inside the box I have made tabs to separate the cards and on the inside of the lid I have a small envelope to store the postage stamps.
This box could be a great gift for someone special, especially when filled with cards made by you.
Just Arrived – New My Favorite Things
We are in the process of un-packing our new order from My Favorite Things.
My Favorite Things have increased their stamps designs and Die-namics range.

Tilda With A Hug
I created this card using the Kaisercraft
‘Toffee Apple’ paper.
This paper has these lovely flowers down the left side of the card, so the front of the card is the lower left and the insider is the upper right.

Christmas Cards 2010
I know it has been a while since I posted on the blog, my apologies, I’m building a house and with full time work, it has been a bit hard to get some time to play.
Here are our Christmas cards for this year using Tilda with Christmas Letters, Tilda with Star and Secret Tilda.

Today’s Kaisercraft Class
Today’s class was small, but we definately got through some projects. Unfortunately, I didn’t get some photos of Cheryl’s work, but here are some from Tara, Bev and Laura.
Bev used the Utopia range of papers for her Memo Board and Storage Drawers with Mauve paint.
Last but not least, Laura created this Large Desk Organiser using the Hey Birdie range of Kaisercraft paper and Hot Pink paint.

My Favorite Things – Who’s That Chocoholic
It’s no secret that Michelle’s a chocoholic – big time!!!
This being said, this set of My Favorite Things was bound to be a new favourite.
‘Life is Sweet’, the card on the left is a gift card, perfect to accompany a box of chocolate. The background is stamped with Hero Arts – Antique Flower Background to give some texture.
‘Here Today – Gone Today!’ (sounds like Michelle), is co-ordinated with Kaisercraft’s Duchess Paper range.
Magnolia Stamps – Captain Edwin
Captain Edwin has been one of my favourite Edwin stamps for a long time and I have been dying to use him.
On Sunday I had a little play session with some images that I had stamped. Here I have used Captain Edwin and Barroll, Skull and Anchor.
The background papers are from Kaisercraft and work perfectly with this range of Magnolia’s. The papers here are from the Old World range – Meridian and Northern Star.
Copic Pens – E00, E11, R20, R59, R46, B29, B24, B32, E31, E35, E37, C1, C3, C5, C7, Y11, Y17.
Kaisercraft Flowers
In this month’s classes we made flowers using the Kaisercraft paper flowers. Today I made this card using some sample flowers I made in yesterday’s class.
Using Bazzill Angel, Lizard and Blue Bell. The scallop was made using a My Favorite Things Die-namics – Small Scallop border.
The flowers were made using two medium Baby Blue and two large Lavender flowers. The instructions on making these flowers can be found on the Kaisercraft blog – http://www.kaisercraft.net/blog/category/tips/.
On the Angel card, I stamped the Darkroom Door – Star Background stamp using Distress Ink Milled Lavender and the words are from Stamp It.

Magnolia Rubber Stamps – Happy Tilda
Darkroom Door – Rockstar
Darkroom Door – Frangipani
I have just returned from the Women In Rubber Stamp Club which was co-ordinated by Maureen. I had an amazing time and created lots of cards.
I played with the Frangipani Photo Stamp and words from the Full Bloom Vol 2 stamp set.
Stamp the Frangipani on Yes paper using a Archival Jet Black ink pad. Edge the flowers with a white wax crayon and then using a blending tool, apply Scattered Straw, Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain. Rub over the image to remove the excess ink from the wax crayon.
Stamp the words on another piece of Yes paper and smudge Wild Honey over it.
Trim the images and adhere to Java, White, Amber and Irish Eyes Bazzill.

Magnolia Stamps
As Magnolia stamps don’t have an image on them, we have taken some of the guess work out of our display in our store to include a small coloured tag on the images I have or images generously given to us by friends.
Here is a couple of them, to see the rest, go out our website and see them under Stamps > Magnolia Rubber Stamps

RECIPE: Thai-Styled Red Curry Pumpkin Soup
By popular demand, here is the recipe for Robyn’s soup at this month’s class:
2tbsp peanut oil
1 brown onion, coarsely chopped
2-4 tsp red curry paste
3 cups vegetable stock
1.3kg butternut (or JAP) pumpkin, peeled, seeded, coarsley chopped
2 kaffir lime leaves
1 cup coconut milk
1/3 cup fresh coriander leaves
Optional: 20 green prawns, peeled, leaving tails intact
Heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring for 3 minutes or until soft. Add the curry paste and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds or until aromatic.
Stir in the stock and bring to the boil. Add the pumpkin and lime leaves. Cover and cook for 30 minutes or until pumpkin is tender.
Transfer half the pumpkin soup to a blender and blend until smooth. Transfer the soup to a clean saucepan.
Repeat with the remaining pumpkin mixture.
Place over low heat and add the coconut milk. Stir for 2-3 minutes or until heated through.
If using prawns – heat the remaining oil in a large frypan over high heat.
Add the prawns and cook for 2-3 minutes each side or until they curl and change colour.
Ladle the soup into shallow bowls. Top with the prawns and coriander and serve.
